Hey all, thanks for the good thoughts. I apologize for not responding sooner - I don't check this thread too regularly.
Next post will have an update that explains the troubles...

SpaceLoot.com update, 10/21/2005
We've been through a lot of changes in the last month, good and bad. First, the bad: we crashed, hard. Prior to 10/4/2005, spaceLoot.com was running on an old beat up notebook computer stashed in my bedroom closet. The hard drive on that machine had a catastrophic failure. It took two weeks and an emergency data retrieval (my backups were not great at the time), but we managed to get the site back up and running. It's now MUCH more stable, operating off a new-ish Dell PowerEdge server with proper backups and disaster recovery systems in place.
The site now consists of three parts:
SpaceLoot - The original app, for tracking and analyzing looted ship components. SpaceLoot exists to answer the question 'is this part any good?' and it can now do so pretty well. Stats:
The Lootalyzer - Added right before the crash, the Lootalyzer provides a detailed analysis of actual space-looting data. The source information is derived from easy-to-generate user-submitted logs. If you'd like to contribute to spaceLoot.com but don't have the patience to submit components, this is a great way to get involved. This application is still in its infancy and could use a burst of community contribution to get the ball rolling. Stats:
The Ship Registry - The newest addition to the spaceLoot.com application suite, the Ship Registry takes user input on raw ship statistics, like chassis type, weapon damage and engine speed, and returns detailed compound statistics like average damage per second, asap re-shunt shield boost amount and top speed under boost. It features a screenshot gallery and a clickifier that creates a direct hypertext link to your ship profile that you can embed in a forum post or a sig file. Posting your ship and then posting a link to it on the pilot forum is a great way to get quick and robust feedback on how best to optimize your configuration.
Thanks for reading. Hope to see you at spaceLoot!
This is just an announcement. I don't review this thread frequently. To post questions, comments and suggestions please visit this thread on the pilot forum.

Yup, this site is damn handy when you're trying to RE components and need to find out what the best stats are
