Thread: What are the main reasons why people want a Firespray?

The Firespray is somewhere between the X-Wing and the Y-Wing in terms of maneuverability. . . and yes, I know that's a huge gap, but that's probably the easiest range for people to understand. It depends GREATLY on pilot skill to get performance out of the Firespray (if you don't roll, don't bother buying one), both because of it shape and its hardpoints. But with a mass of 220K, it has a lot to offer people now. The old ones, at 170K, literally were Longprobes with a more targetable body and slightly better cornering. But with the increase in mass, it has by far the best mass/speed ration in the game.

It should be noted, therefore, that that comparison screenshot is either the OLD Firespray, with the low mass, or a very poorly crafted new Firespray.

Well, it may be a decent B-Wing replacement...

I want one because that ship has been in my dreams for years and years. The mass on it is great but the profile is well, the broad side of a barn comes to mind. I love ths ship though so I will just learn to use it the best I can.

So what you're looking at is about a MINIMUM of 400 Reverse Engineering builds (if every schem fragment you get is different)...which means about 1000 loot items to be RE'd (if they're all 1's and 2's)...plus the time to RE all that stuff...and then craft the ship. (it's master ship level...so resource cost is about 1.2 mil)

So all in all...not something that just anyone's gonna have...and it's never gonna be cheap.

I've also been hearing that because of duplicates I've been getting a lot of reports that it takes around 1000 RE'ed items in order to get all the pieces for the first firespray schem.

Quite right...I was stating the minimums. I've personally gone through 15 backpacks of loot, and had to trade disks to get my first Firespray. It's by no means easy to get one of these ships.

OMG, I wish i had your luck!

I consider a "loot run" 100 items worth of loot (main inv + 1 backpack). To date, I've done close to 20 loot runs. At this moment I have 5 unique discs and 1 dupe... hopefully my luck will change!

I guess I'm not too far off though because someone elsewhere may trade dupes with me so we both come out ahead a little (then I'll be needing 1 & 6).

(never said I crafted the Firespray...said I traded disks...and now I have one...got it as part of a disk trade...=P) I still need 4 disks for my set.
