Thread: What are the main reasons why people want a Firespray?

I think the most common reason can be summed up as follows.

OMFG BOBA FETT PWNZ!!!! LOL!!!11ONE11

Personally, I am not all a twitter to get my hands on one. Between the Longprobe and my newly acquire A-Wing (damn, those things are hard to outfit after having 170K mass to play with), I feel like I have two very distinct options, ship-wise. I have been donating obscene numbers of parts to my PA's Shipwright, though, so perhaps he will crank me out one to play with when he gets the remaining specs.

I want it because it has more mass than a Tie-Bomber and better performance.

Imp ships are too darn small. This chassis would make a pretty good heavy fighter.

If it handles close to my A-Wing (and the stats say that it should...but nothing beats getting your hands on the stick) then it's a monster. Oh, what I could do in that thing with two Level 10 guns and a 103 speed engine and dual MKII Space Bombs or MKIV Protons...

Hmmm, my Firespray handled more like a y-wing....

Firespray handles better than almost all the other starfighters. (interceptor, Advanced, and A-wing excluded)

Has 220k mass. This means you can fully equip it with top-tier gear.

2 Gun Slots, and 2 Missile slots...beats most other imp ships.

Imps can paint/texture it. =P

Rarity/Status Symbol. If you have one of these...and can fly it well...means you're a true Ace. Several people I know who have a Firespray can't fight well with them because of the offset guns. Once you get used to them though...a Firespray is up there with the best of the ships. That...and it's RARE...kinda like having Mandalorian armor...it's having it that's the point.

Hmm, maybe I'll buy one too. Waiting for price drop; 10 mil is a bit too much.

Gonna be a while...the sheer number of parts that the shipwright has to RE to get a schem fragment is nuts...and then there's the resources to craft it. About the min I could see them dropping down to would be about 7 mil.

Does the shipwright have to RE parts for every Firespray made or just for the schematics?

For a very limited use schematic that poofs.

The shipwright RE's parts....and on a random chance (about 0.5%) of the time...he gets a FRAGMENT of the schematic...numbered 1-8. Once the shipwright has collected all 8 different fragments...he combines them to form the full thing. The finished schematic can have 3, 5 or 7 uses.

So what you're looking at is about a MINIMUM of 400 Reverse Engineering builds (if every schem fragment you get is different)...which means about 1000 loot items to be RE'd (if they're all 1's and 2's)...plus the time to RE all that stuff...and then craft the ship. (it's master ship level...so resource cost is about 1.2 mil)

So all in all...not something that just anyone's gonna have...and it's never gonna be cheap.

Firespray isn't good for pvp and you'll also have a hard time if it comes to dogfights with Tier4/5 a-wings, interceptors, advanceds.
