I've only played about 15 minutes so far... saw my sorosub and my other vehicle I got as a loaner..

It LOOKS incredible... What a bargain for the cheap price it is. I give it a 10/10 so far!

I'd say an 8/10. The only complaint I have is that the starter ship is a piece of junk, but, it's a free starter ship so it was expected.

Oh, also, I think it would have been more fun if I had people out there with me running a missions together or something. No real complaints. I thought it was very fun and people should give it a try.

3 , great graphics i like the interface, controls are alright, ships fly kinda slow....

but what really pisses me off is i tried to do the first imperial mission and the z95s i had to attack started flying like butterflies!!! i could hit them because one second they were here then the next second, behind , over here, over there

Didn't get a lot of time but seeinf tat from space was pretty cool. Survived my first mission but not my second. Need to watch the damage done to my ship - DOH! Gonna like this new addition - no doubt!

Oh lets make it 9/10 til I see more of it.

I have to give it 5/10. The space side of star wars is only half there and the faction stuff is completely wrong in the implementation of the faction ships and missions. Heck even piloting skills were done wrong. While theexpansion has a few great high point , the many lows hurt the score.

First off, lets start with piloting skill trees.

The current system was poorly concieved. You should be able to fly privatelyAND under a faction banner (Reb or Imp). Games like X-Wing Alliance are testament to this -Your character flyies personal missions in between his factioned Rebel missions. While an Imperial might have to be careful about what contracts he/she accepts, this would add a nice level of story Role-play toour characters and the game.

Along with this, the pilot skill trees need to be combined and a rank system put in place for the faction ships. EX.Im a good pilot already but now I fly for the rebels as a Flight-Captainwhichqualifies me to take an X-wing for missions. As I advance in rank I get more ships that i can choose from for a mission.

And on factioned ships, they should be NPC given to the player at time of the mission and deleted after the mission- pass or fail. Rebel craft and Imperial craft were MASS-PRODUCED during this era. These should not be custom built craft that players can upgrade (perhaps when a player reaches ACE rank they could get a customizable faction ship schem that a player shipwright can build - ie like Wedge, and Luke would have personal X-Wings, but red-shirted ensign Dax got the standard factory crated ship)

From a game play point of view this would give a developer the ability to control how difficult missions would be since these ship wouldbe the primary fighter craft in most encounters. --Then the player built ships could directly compare to these standards (ie "This ones faster then the X-wing but carries less mass in components because of it")

On a Positive note - the ship customization option are plentiful. It would be nice if there were about 20 chasis for basic pilot and then theunmodifiblefaction basedships on top of this. Star Wars should have tons of variety.

On the Star Wars-y feel to the space expansion...

Where are interiors ofthe space stations and the capital ships?!? What we got was a big droid in space! The tutorial has a station interior, just reuse that (hey they used the same three dungeon maps over and over, so why not). I wanted to walk around and hang-out in space cantinas, collect a bounty onboard a space station, even meet the personallities and take space missions from Admiral Ackbar, or Admiral Thrawn from aboard their cruisers.

Plus Star Wars space lanes are a connection of hyperspace jump points/bouys. Not all are accessible from any one location (ref ALL the other Lucas arts "X-Wing" series games) SOE needed to preserve the "vastness" of space feel. We got a watered down 10 or 12 sectors of space. For instance youcould Hyperspace from Corellia to Naboo, but you have to come out of hyperspace to manually fly thru a vastasteroid fieldto reach a hyper-bouy on the far side; Its safe ...except for the pirates that are there [que the John Williams fight music].

Take a look at a true Star Wars Space station in this sequence:

ftp://ftp.lucasarts.com/Video/jedimov.avi

Earth and Beyond had a nice map/zone system for the game that made me feel like space was BIG (zoning from sector to sector via hyper bouys) I alway hoped this aspect would make it to JTL.

On a Positive note - The Art Dept deserves a HUGE PAY RAISE the sheer beauty of graphics in game leaves me speachless at times. Too bad the Mega-pizel graphics are paired with 8-bit content.

It will be very interesting to see what the general concensus is like 2 weeks from now, after many players have run out of stuff to do in space.

I think SOE sandbagged us on beta...i was in beta and i was kinda bored with it very quickly.

Live, JTL is great! Load times are fast. Ship feel and fly good. Its a big turnaround.

/hats off to SOE

9/10

I'm taking one point off for the issues on registration, but I have to say I had fun and am enjoying the game right now. Went to multiple planets, helped strangers, learned my first grinding macro to get the XP to take up shipwright. Now just to get the materials to build ships.

I'll give it a 9 for my first day (I can't give anything a perfect score).

I was in beta, but, absent from flying the last couple of days because I was too busy making ships and droids and figuring that whole world out and testing... uh... of course. I was surprised when I finally got back into space today at how much more polish they added to the game. They cleaned up some interface annoyances. The ships handle fantastic. The AI is great. The beginner missions are as hard (read: easy) as beginner missions should be. Dogfights are fun and challenging and I find that I don't feel like I'm stuck in the mud with the starter ship. But, I can't wait to upgrade to a player made one with higher level components.

Good job devs. Keep up this level of quality for the Combat and GCW Revamp and we'll have ourselves quite the game.

7/10. I played through till the end of beta and I must say over all its a good game. I agree that it needs more content added, ablility to dock with spacestaions, etc. Outside of that, I can't complain. I've got 3 toons & each one is a pilot for one of the 3 choices. Not sure which one I like yet. Now lets get the GCW revamp sorted out & we'll have a lot more happy campers in this game.

My .02...now where's my change?

10/10

I got in early to the beta and all of the changes between then and now are awesome. I have'nt gotten that far into the pilot tree yet, but the mechanics are working nicely. Also, the added 'Travel' feature is great. I will be buying JTLS for my crafter now just so I dont have to wait for another shuttle ever again

All in all, I think that this is a great base to build on, but the truth will be told if SOE adds content that builds onto this base
