I'm something of a history fan. I love a good story, so ancient history appeals to me. The roman milltary facinated me long before the movie gladiator. I named most of my ships from this influence.
Y wing, "Ferrata", latin for iron. (a reference to the tanking ablity of the ship class)
Y wing Longprobe, "Ferrata Felix".... Lucky Iron.
X wing, "Valeria Victrix"... theres two translations, the one i choose is "Valient and Victorious".
A wing, "Fulminata"..... lighting ( because its lighting fast
)
Then, contrary to trend:
Nova courier, "Pork Chop Express".... move reference to Big trouble in little china.
B wing, "Impartial Justice"... i wanted "Indiscriminiate justice" but the name was too long, so i used impartial instead.

My ships are named as followed:
X-Wing - Seraphim
A-Wing - Seraphim II
B-Wing - Seraphim III
Nova Courier - Seraphim IV
The Seraphim are a type of Angel that surround the throne of God. I smite the cruel and the wicked swiftly with fury and vengence.

My first ships were all named "SOE Revenue", for obvious reasons. 
Once I got to the TIE Interceptor level, I started calling my fast ships "Hazardous". The TIE Interceptor was the first Hazardous, then my TIE Advanced became the Hazardous II. That name stuck in my head from a book I read on the exploits of the privateer / pirate Captain Kidd. It was either the name of a ship he took over, and I translated it from French into English.
My TIE Bomber was named the "Havoc", in part because I can cause massive damage with it, and in homage to the "Starfighter" console series (it's the name of Nym's bomber). I have re-deeded my Bomber and given my Firespray the name Havoc II.
My Decimator is named the Dauntless, because it sounds foreboding.

ive got two ships:
my tier-three-unprenouceable-name-for-priviteer - RSF Arbiter II
RSF for of course. the Royal <Naboo> Secruity Forces. Arbiter, because im in neutral ground here, and so i can act as a Judge, the very meaning of what "Arbiter" means. the "II" for my second one, of course.
My Sorosubb - RSF Nostromo
Im a big "Alien" fan, so i said "hell, why dont i just name my yacht the nostromo?"

My fighters are all named GreenLeader since my guild Role plays Green Squadron. We have subsequent names after that such green 2, green 3 etc
but originally they were:
Z95- UberNoob1
Y-wing- TugBoat
X-wing- Vengeance
A-wing- (never named since it started the green squadron)
my nova is called The Star of Solaris after my guild's city....we all share it.

My TIE fighters used to be named "Nergon 14"
why?
nergon 14 is the explosive component in proton torps... but ok why? cuz its a fricken tie fighter! all they do is blow up!

Whichever fighter is currently deeded:
"Smuggler's Folly"
Because I'm a smuggler...and I've foolishly poured credits into a ship that doesn't pay for itself, brings me nothing but aggravation when I try to play it, and spend alot of my free time trying to find people to group with and complete stupid, silly, useless quests - for little or no reward - Folly indeed!
"Smuggler's Joy"
Veteran yacht (currently deed) - cause I think I can turn a credit with it. Will likely keep this deeded and name YT this whenever I qualify.

My Kimogala is named "Delirium Trigger". My Ixiyen is named "Favor House", and my SoroSub is named the "Velorium Camper"... all the names are based off of song titles from my favorite band Coheed and Cambria.

Tie standard (just above light duty) was called "Laughing Menace"... Because it wouldn't accept "Laughable Menace". 
Why? Because it's a TIE that keeps on exploding. May I mention that I only diedon that one and the light duty, except for once so far in my in, because of overwhelming odds on a badly spawned mission??
My current TIE/in's called "Djeebus' Revenge".
Why? Because when Djeebus is coming back, he'll be pissed and dish out some undiscriminated justice.
My TIE Interceptor (next step) will be called "Psycho Chicken".
Why? Dunno... Probably because of the irony...
And whatever comes next?
Maybe "Enterprise-Z", because there are too many of them already...

"Vida Perra" - spanish... And that's probably what every TIE pilot thinks when he sees an X-Wing.
"Need Backup" - because no TIE should go outside alone
"Belgian Fries" - not the french kind
"Stars and Plasma" - pretty much what TIE pilots are expected to see
"No Insurance" - Try to get a TIE insured?!
"noMob plzkthx" - pretty obvious, isn't it?
And, if I ever get one of those tier 5 ships... "Wallet Killer" for rather obvious reasons.
