My Rihk is the Blightsbane, no idea why, probably influenced by my affinity for the Wheel of Time series.
My pride and joy (pics tonight!) is the Flare, The Crimson Flare. The orignial name was to be The Crimson Nova, but was changed due to the Rebel MP ship being named the Nova. The Crimson Nova was a bounty hunter guild commissioned by Count Dooku and the Confederacy during the Clone Wars to hunt Jedi. This was the first recorded time that bounties were issued on Jedi. As a BH you see why I would choose that. The name for the ship was changed but had to keep the central theme and so I chose Flare as in Solar Flare.

DigiDante. no one else seemed to know, or want to mention that they knew where your ship names came from.. i know though =) they came from theDUNE series. frank herbert i beleive... sorry for the spelling i havent read it in forever =)
anyway.. my ship names are as follows.
My Yacht is called... The Mad Hatter,
all of my fighters were/arecalled... Voodoo
and when i get a YT itll be called... Gypsy Fortune (see the story 'Shel' in the rp boards)

Fighters have been named "Praetor I - IV"
Decimator is "Huntress I"
See my sig for reasoning behind it.
Currently in my hangar I have:
Tie Advanced: - Praetor III
Firespray: - Praetor IV
Decimator - Huntress I
In Beta my YT was the "Century Pigeon" yeah, yeah, yeah.... I know. I was being silly that day,
and I didn't want to give out my naming scheme during beta.
Now, I'm pretty sure if I see someone steal a ship name, I can always dig through my latin dictionary for soemthing more esoteric.
In a previous thread, I had mentioned if it wasn't for strongbad, "Homestar Runner" would be an AWESOME swg ship name. Oh, well.

I don't have plans to name any of my fighters. It's kind of like naming a dingy or a canoe: seems a little pointless.
However, my yacht is named the Roxana after the yacht owned by the owner of a company that I used to work for, who named it after his wife.
While the company paid its employees awfully, took away sick days and harrassed them over minutiae like "wasting company time" to rush out of the building to plug your parking meter, the owners of this company lived an opulent, filthy-rich lifestyle that included a 154-foot yacht, a private island, houses in Europe and a 20,000-square foot mansion, walled and gated to keep out the riff raff.
Since I could only hope to reach this lifestyle in a virtual online world, I decided to name my yacht after the Roxana.

I'm a creature Handler, so I named my yachte (TheArc) plan on tricking it out with 2 of every animal a BE can make. hehe

Seen a lot of ship's now and a lot of interesting and/or funny Shipnames
i.e. a YT named "Mobile Target" and alike
My Question now is: Why did you guys (and gals)name your ship with the name it has?
I'll start:
My ship's are all called: "T'dr'duzk b'hazg t't"
This is a dwarf`s worst Combat Cry
And it's meaning:
"It is a good day for someone else to die".
Comes from T.Pratchets "Feet of Clay".

Tie and Tie/in (Pirana) Little teath that rips oppnents apart quickly
Tie interceptor (Baracuda) Sleek and quick with biger teath
Tie bomber (Orca) Lumbers like a whale but leathal when it strikes.

..well after reading some of these I seem to have somewhat "normal" names I guess.
My TIE Advanced is named "Onslaught II"
... just cause it sounded cool ... and "II" just cause it sounded cooler than just "Onslaught"
My TIEAgressor is named "Anvil II"
... see above.
My TIE Bomber is named"Brick"
... because it can't fly worth a darn ... gunboats can outmanauver it!
My TIE Interceptor is named "Claw"
... they kinda have that look to em.
