Well none of us have played the expansion yet...so wait and give it a try before you judge it. And if this game folds due to lack of sales......Star trek online frontier comes out next year or so.

I agree, give it chance, we still dont even know the full content breakdown it will offer. It's gonna be a great addition to swg, the devs have been batting 1000 this past month or so so my confidence in them is on the rise.As far as a star trek mmorpg is concerned... *shudders*... im not quite sure that would fit the bill for someone thats into star wars.

I am not sure if this has already been mentioned so if it has sorry in advance.....
Look ROW is coming and seriously doubt soe and george lucas is gonna miss an opportunity to fleece a few mil out of us for the new expansion. This is the last Star Wars Film, and so either George is gonna tale advantage of the the craze that will ensue after EPisode III hits, or he is an idiot. Its a business decision plain and simple. I think if the roles were reversed you would want to take every marketing opportunity to make a few extra mil. In closing, the only beef i have is Iwish they would fix all the bugs we currently have in the current publish of swg and jtl, now i know why fixes have been few and far between they had most of the devs/programmers working on the new expansion instead of on the current game for that I say shame on soe and lucas arts. But i odnt blame them for trying to make a buck er 2 while they can.

If ROTW will delay the fixing of in-game and out-of-game bugs for JTL, Combat, and GCW then I don't want it untill all these new bugs are fixed. If not, then I'm all for a new planet and other stuff. New armor would be nice...

Actually , I completely disagree. I think the best way to do expansions for this game is to do one every 6 months or so, and add a new planet/space sector. This is the way I always imagined the game growing, and the only reason it didn't start out this way, was because the devs held off on JtL. Giving us JtL later in development was an excellent marketing decision, but aside from that, now that all the core pieces of the system are in place (space AND ground) they can start to develop this game core with new content, new planets, new upgrades etc. I think SWG has taken a much different development cycle than a lot of other MMO's, and we've become used to the 'free content' every month or two as new patches were put out to enhance the main game system. Now that expansions are going to be coming more regularly, I think we will see the SWG world grow very rapidly to emcompass a lot more than it ever has. If they did 1 new planet and space sector every 6 months, Id be exstatic with all the new content available lol. The way I see it is about that timeframe, new expansion every six months, in between, patching in changes to enhance or fix currently existing game systems and small content packages. I wouldnt ever want them to delay this because we've all been so hungrily awaiting something like this, it would be a travesty to push it back, and would be equally horrible for marketing at SOE to miss the release date of the 'last' Star Wars movie. Its too good of an opportunity to miss for them, and I can guarantee that they won't delay this expansion, no matter what we say.
