Thread: Beware the shady Chassis Dealers
Amuro0079 wrote:If you SW's want parts to RE,why don't youloot themyourselves in space. It's not that hard. Many master SW's that I know are also master pilots.
I for one mastered shipwright 3 hours after getting JTLS the tuesday before official launch.
I for one have spent probably a total of 2 hours in space since then.
I have 1 skill in pilot. I do not particularly care to loot about 5,000-10,000 parts to get the 8 pieces needed for a Firespray.

Agreed. Personally i think its the most fugly ship in the game. As a target, It has one of the largest profiles. So i just dont understand the value people seem to put on this ship. So the "fetts" flew one in the movies... whoopty do. It shoulld have remained as the privateer master ship like it orginally was in beta, not as the fetish cult object it is now.
If you guys don't like it then there is still no need to deny others content by selling parts to a chassis dealer.
Tell ya what. Ill sell my loot to a SW, when im given the proper incentive to. Most of the time, you guys want something for nothing, and then turn around and charge us out the ying yang. Which makes me even more unmotivated to sell a SW (that isnt on my friends list) ANYTHING.
1000 credits per level on the item isnt going to do it. Not when i can get same cash IMMEDIATLY from the vendor. ADVERTISE, and Offer me more than 1K per level, and i might be motivated to do it.
Oh yes, advertising by putting a droid or something, or hell, EVEN A VENDOR IN YOUR OWN BLOODY SHOP spaming a message is alot of work. (ive only seen ONE SW do this. and i shop around ALOT) *rolls eyes* And you woudlnt be giving me anything. Your buying a resource, that frankly i just save for myself and get it RE'd later.
>>SW's do pay more than 1k per level.
Acutally, not all do. Infact, most ive seen, DON't.

Actually, the average has been about 1200 to 1500 parts to get all 8 disks. We've gotten 3 Firespray schematics so far.
The quickest way to upset SW's and Firespray fans is to sell your parts to the chassis dealer for cash
To be honest, im lazy. Im not going to go track down SW's going, "hey you wanna buy my parts? huh huh?" I don't have time for that. Im going to do whats convienant. The chassis dealer. If a SW was rigth there, or even a droid spamming a waypoint, i'd type in the /way xxxx, yyyy, if the price was right and be done with it. But frankly, im not out to do any community service, and i could give less than a bean about a flying snail shell.
What gets me, is SW never advertise to buying parts. Even BEFORE the chassis dealer option. And why should they when they were able to sort through hundreds of parts on the bazar for a petance. It was practicaly free loot. Rather the clutter the bazzar with more GARBAGE, i deleted most of the crap loot before i even got the the starport.
But heres an idea for any SW with an ear. Theres alot of people who think along the lines that i do. My reason for saying this is while im selling loot, its not uncommon to see 3 or 4 other pilot standing next do me doing the same. If one was smart, they'd put a droid RIGHT NEXT to that dealer, with an advertisement.

So you're saying to do the "others" a favor and go out of our way to clutter up our inventory until we can find a shipwright who will RE these parts. After maybe about 2,000 RE's they get all the parts needed for a Firespray. They craft and sell for 15 mil. Help the economy? I don't think so. No offense to any shipwrights. Makes more sense to sell them to the chassis dealer.

I am not a SW. The SW is giving you money in exchange for something that you got just for playing the game. Why should they do anything? You (as a pilot selling parts) are the one who wants money. Do a seach for SW and send em a /tell, say I'll sell it to you for 1500 per level or I'll sell it to the broker. If they say no oh well you've lost 13 seconds. If they say yes you've just increased your profit by 50%. Where is the problem here?

By your own admission you haven't been looking. EVERY SW I've seen that is buying loot is paying more in one way or another (either paying more creds or giving you discounts on your expendables and other future purchases).
Take the advice and make more money or don't I don't care.

Mmmm let me think about this one............er.... no.
why should i have to run around the galaxy looking for a Ship wright to sell my loot to, when i can go to Coronet or theed or any other major city that has a dealer and sell it to them for a fair price?
if im pulling out, 20 items at level 7 (7,000) = 140,000 how many SW, are going to pay the same price?
and thats just level 7 equipment. if i have level 10 items, (which i dont have yet) im going to save em up and sell them to the dealer for 10,000 a pop. (if its fixed)
So the SW need this loot for a firespray? how much they selling for? 5,000,000 ??? and we get pennies for the loot. Me thinks me charge MORE money to SW for the level 10 stuff
Any ship wrights wanting loot, ADVERTISE, how much you sell your "firespray" and what type and level of loot you need. then we can see about fair pricing.... LMAO
How about this:
I am not a shipwright, first of all.
You are making 140,000 for 20 level 7 parts? Good job that means that I am making 210,000 for the same loot. Who am I going to sell to? AND because I use the same SW I get discounts on my gear, AND will get a cut on the Firespray should I choose to buy one when he gets his last disks. Hmmm... who is smart now?
SW's shouldn't have to advertise. Do you not realize how easy it is to make friends with one and establish a business relationship that is mutally beneficial? That sweet level 8 capacitor you pulled? Mine is better because it has been RE'd. Those sweet level 9 disruptors? Mine are better because of RE. Why? Because I took the 17 minutes to find a decent shipwright, lucked out and found a great one, and am now making FAR more money than you chasis dealer junkies, SAVING FAR more money, and in the end will everyone involved will benefit.
Who is smart now?
This guy has the right idea...
I give all my unwanted space loot to my SW and guess what....I haven't paid for a thing (including my Firespray and YT-1300). I guess all you soloers who would rather deal with an NPC than another player can get credits to pay top dollar for average components or you can *gasp* interact with a SW and possibly get the cream of the crop components at a big discount. Sounds to me like you lose on both accounts....you pay more money for lower quality parts and don't get the benefit of having an in game friend to enhance your playing experience. All you people just make things easier for us that take a small amount of time and effort to actually interact within a "MMORPG"....thanks ![]()
