You are getting verbally bombarded because the "uber pilots" have been doing this long enough to know that they would have to completely redesign the ENTIRE space game to try to get what you are talking about, dumbing it down a lot and making CTSS non-existent. They are the ones that are being logical, based on experience.

You're being whimsical, based on wants.

And aside, changing the system would not be difficult. Simply takeplayer weapons to the same as NPC weapons, and NPCshieldsto the same as Player Shields. Then, to avoid the problem of ships dodging fire, Y/P/R rates would have to be adjusted. Also, some of the new ships, (such as the JSF), would need some work on their profiles.

That is pretty much what I was proposing with a Unified Standard for stats in both PvE & PvP combat.

As far as the JSF being jacked-up beyond all reason, that has nothing to do with Star Wars canon as much as Marketing - How do you get the JSF? You buy the RotW Expansion Pack and then they practically hand it to you during the installation. It's their way of saying "Thanks for buying our product. Now you get das ubership. Now you can gank everyone out there who hasn't bought RotW until they get fed-up and are forced to buy it themselves. Thus, SOE makes even more money."
