Don't forget the fact on the ground game you see the sun or 2 suns rising and setting depending where you are then get in to space and there's no sign of them. I don't know about anybody else but this bugs the living crap out of me.
They're on the other side of the planet, and so are the suns.

course i guess you could go to deep space, wait a few hours and maybe find someone who wants to damage their ship for 0 reward.
or if you were goal orientied you could kill bad ai that flys in circles and get loot to be able to kill bad ai that flys in circles to get loot with more ease.
sweet eh?
was fun for a week though.
Yes, horrible AI, warping and drunken bee bugs. No content whatsoever. The devs really dropped the ball. If they just took all aspects of XvT and made it massively multiplayer they would have done a better job than with what we have.

Now maybe it is just me, but I honestly believe that if you make JTL enough fun to play, then you do not need to offer rewards for playing. If the game is cool enough (and not expensive) players will participate for the sheer joy of the experience. In fact no rewards would encourage players to play for the fun of it, and completely remove any incentive to exploit these missions.
Kessel and Deep Space are simply not enough, we need several PvP zones. Each with it’s own theme which would allow players to jump into a large PvP battle. Here are a some ideas for PvP zones. In each case I believe there should not be any real reward for playing. However conversely there should be no penalty. When you go to your factional deep space station, you are given several zones to which you can warp. When you warp out, or if you are destroyed, you warp back to that station and are repaired to your pre-battle state for free.
Capital ship battles
A Correlian Cruiser and an Star Destoyer concurrently spawn about 5-10 km apart. For the first 10 15 minutes they are unattackable and PvP is disabled. This give everyone time to get ready. Then the battle is on! After a period of time, if neither ship is destroyed, they slowly close on each other and battle it out, generally allowing the least damaged ship at that point to win, but giving each team one last chance to tip the balance in their favor. The victorious ship then warps out, and we start all over. (Yes I got that idea from the Episode 3 trailer, but didn’t that battle look cool!!!)
Freighter Escort.
There could be two of these, one Imp transport, one Reb, or one zone and they alternate missions. The Freighters slowly move across the zone. In the case of the Imperial escort mission (and visa versa for the rebs), the imperial players would have two hyper points. One at the start of the freighter voyage, one at their end point. The rebels have only one hyper point, but it is in the middle of the freighter’s flight path. At the start and end of the mission, the escort would have the advantage of quick reinforcement. However in the middle portion, the escort would have to run the gauntlet of attackers without ready reinforcements.
Capture the Flag
A basic PvP game concept. No reason it wouldn’t work here.
Capture the Hyper points.
Each Hyper point has an emitter which will only allow friendly ships to warp in. However, docking with an emitter will alter it to allow rebel or imperial ships to warp in. The goal is simple, capture all emitters to cut off reinforcements, and kill all enemies in the zone.
The Death Star
Forget continuity! We all want to fight that battle! Heck, I don’t even have to explain how this one would work, we know this battle by heart! Come up with whatever lame storyline excuse you need, (time travel, a little known third Death Star, an elaborate simulation, the entire season was only a dream), we will forgive you if you give us this experience and make it cool!.

Nice Post (No sarcasm). You didn't whine and you presentedadditional content that can be added to the game.
Now for those of you that are upset about the lack of content. Please understand that there is no way on the face of this earth that thedevs can put unlimited content into this game. If you have done everything that you can do in space then go back to ground and do something there and if you have done everything on the ground that there is to do then take a break and go do something else until more content is added.

Aren't you guys getting a little tired of waiting for "what's next"? Maybe it's me but I get more and more concerned everytime I hear "feature will be coming soon" I understand the psychology behind dangling the carrot with a subscription based game. All I'm saying is let me eat the carrot every once in a while. Then dangle another one in front of my face.

Nada
Here's the idea:
A group of players must fly to a certain area, past waves of enemy ships, to a Corellian Corvette which they must then dock with and board.
Once they board they must liberate the ship from its crew--fighting them in the hallways and engine rooms. This could be similar to the current Corvette except without 75k HAM human beings and 250k HAM battle droids. It could involve some puzzle solving, on a time limit, as well as combat with NPC characters in the ship. Once the NPCs are all defeated, the next stage begins.
The characters must now get themselves into position as pilot and crew of the ship. One drives, one manipulates the computer, several operate gun turrets on the top, bottom and rear of the ship. They must now navigate the ship safely out of the area, fighting off more waves of enemy ships.
Some of the party members can stay behind in their fighters and fly escort, but there's a bare minimum number that must be on board to pilot and control the ship.
The goal of the mission is to get the Corvette out of enemy space and back home safely.
It would involve both flight and ground combat skills, both flight and ground strategy, as well as multiple types of problem solving and the opportunity to bring a variety of profession types. Terminals on the ship might need a Smuggler to slice, that sort of thing.
Now, this mission could be played as described entirely against NPC opponents. That's one level of complexity.
BUT WHAT IF!!
Two groups could sign up for the mission. They each have the same assignment, and to accomplish it they must prevent the other side from beating them to it!
The two groups of ships can face off--perhaps they only face each other, perhaps waves of NPC ships get involved as well. Whichever one makes it to the Corvette first gets the advantage.
This part would mostly involve space PVP skills and strategy, although it would be amazing if both groups could dock with the ship and they could fight it out there, too.
In Guild Wars, these types of competitive events are instanced, which makes them much more satisfying and self-contained, so that's what I'd recommend for this adventure.
You'd assemble two player groups, and the leader of each group would talk to an NPC who would match up the teams. Either you could choose your opponent, or it would select your enemy from whoever has signed up--something like that.
Of course there could be some kind of reward for being the team to achieve this--space "prestige" points, some type of physical reward, or special ship component... the main thing is that it would be a lot of fun AND give us some kind of PVE *and* PVP content after reaching Master Pilot.
Any thoughts?

What should I do?
- PvP? Or should I say "who lands the first shot head on". Do I have an incentive to PvP in space? Does it even give FP for player kills? Is it worthwhile to have such tremendous decay on my expensive Tier 5 craft? Is there anything to fight over? Give me an incentive.
- Missions? Are there any other higher level missions to do, anything at all? What are the incentive/rewards for completing them?
- Build up prestige points? What for? You only need 50K to go to deep space, and prestige points are not used for anything else.
- Put up with "drunken bees", "bounce backs", and the "ship invulnerability bug"? For what? Loot? Why collect loot if you are toasted in a couple shots in PvP regardless?
- Try to take out the rebel base in deep space? I wonder, what happends when you accomplish this? Is there ANY other content left after this?
update: Nov 17, 2004 Problem solved: I've canceled my account. I will no longer be playing Star Wars Galaxies. Perhaps I might just return when they release the combat balance, and some actual Galactic Civil War content, rather than spending 8 months on a Jedi proffession that doesen't interest me. I'll be playing Worlds of WarCraft now.

If he had waited one more day, he would have gotten the answer......
Next patch, end of the month, missions in space at Space-Stations will go live.....
Because of people like him SOE is forced to put out unready content in live.....
I think he never have heared what Yoda has said to Luke.......![]()
