Turrets are a joke. Once they start firing it's all over. I tried the emissary mission today again, and I tried running away from the Nova and then turning and trying to scream past it head on and get behind it. At about 500m in front of it, I got a missle warning and his turrets started doing their thing. My shields were almost down and when that missle hit it was all over. You think the turrets are bad, wait till you take a missle hit from that nova, it basically immobilzied my ship and I exploded. I hadn't even put a shot on him yet.
Too bad countermeasures are still "iffy."

Sheilds set to front, target the "weapon 1" or relevant turret on your target .. and pull in behind ... then give them hell ... works wonders with Lambda's, Aggressors and pretty much any craft with a turret of all tiers (cept gunboats .. them buggers hurt) ... though with YT-1300's i find throttling to full and just charging at them with sheilds reinforced or adjusted to the frontal arc and firing like your life depended on it (which it does) then boosting off behind it and keeping about 700m-1km away till sheilds regen and repeat until the target goes up in flames seems to work well

I fully agree the turret AI is broken, but I have no problem at all with the regular fighter type AI as is. Turrets specifically are the only things that give me pause..

Hmm,how do you set shields to forward, back, even, etc? Mabye I just never realized you could do this but I thought that wasn't possible in JTL? Shields reinforced? Am I missing something here? Are you playing Xwing Alliance, or Xwing vs Tie fighter cause I don't think you can do any of that in JTL.
Going to feel really dumb if you can reinforce shields and set shields to forward and rear....
Problem I'm having with the Nova is it doesn't matter where you shoot him from, front, back, top, bottom, you take hits from 2 turrets from all angles, and if there is one place on the ship where he can't hit you, you still have to survive an initial pass to get there. And those 2 turrets might as well be a death star laser, cause you die. Poof, gone, pretty ship no more, little peices everywhere, black bars instead of green blue and red. Busted ship and all.

Rebel droid commands. They are far from as useful as the XwA shield commands though.
Oh, and if you are a privateer or imperial, you should be able to get these commands anyway. Theyare tradable, I think.
