One thing that will help is to group up with someone better than you and take some harder missions. Naboo has higher paying missions, but you really need to hike to get to the lairs.

Secondly, regarding a weapon, get a good one as soon as you can. This would probably be a fast firing scout blaster for now.

If you panhandle and say you are a newbie you might get some friendly donations, especially from novice weaponsmiths who are grinding and destroying weapons. Usually when I see a newbie begging I give them some creds because I know its a bummer to start out with only a CDEF.

I want to make a quality product but im really feeling the credits disapearing trying to grind. Right now I have 5 med harvestors sitting on a 50 percent steel site. 1 med, 1 regular chem harvestor going at 85 percent fiberplast, and a factory. I've been buying steel like crazy at 3 credits per unit. I need to put a truely good, and useful droid up for sale. I want the top end though, so if I have to go 4,4,0,4 I will before selling. Right now I'm at 1,2,0,2.

I am in the same situation as you. 1/2/0/3 is where I am on the skill tree. I would get one more level in blueprints. I've found I can sell r4's and other droids with food/chem crafting stations and medical modules fairly often. Along with the occasional probot. I usually keep a few deeds of probots in my inventory and then when I am in town I run around with my probot out which always gets someone asking how they can get one. I've found that if they balk about the price you can usually sell them a cheaper droid. I also try to spend some time with them showing them how to use it and I always include a few batteries. I've been doing this for about a week now and I am already starting to get the word of mouth sales.

I sold a LOT of R5 units with level 1 medical module on the bazaar for 2750 credits. What I did was travel the galaxy and drop a few on the bazaar on the planets I went to. OF course, some days were better than others, and you'll sell more 2k droids on Rori than you will in Theed.

get blueprints lvl3 at 1,2,0,3 I was making pretty good profit selling probots with armor lvl 3 and adv r4 with 2 med lvl2 and a chem crafting.. from there get armor lvl4 and the clothing/armor crafting module..

I'm at 1,3,0,3 from here i pan to goto 3,3,0,3 then get master blueprints, then the structor crafting module then work up the refinement master that then finish off armor 5

Everyone and his dog have crafting stations by now. I am planning ahead for the real combat droids. Go 1 4 0 4. People in my PA want real combat droids as not all of them want to take up creature handler.

Medical line is worthless too. People only want medical module 6 the rest are worthless. Sell seekers and probes ang get a regular income. Good xp and when you inventory is full grind them with practice mode on.Almost as good as grinding adv droid frames and you can potentially sell them too.

To make regular money here is a tip. get 2x inert gas, ferous metal, non-ferous metal, extrusive ore missions. Visit your harvesters and you get 3K a visit. Boring but you can make that tedious visit to your harvesters pay for themselves. I have to commute nightly to tatooine to get extrusive ore - so I take 2 x extrusive ore missions at 3K for a pair and I pay for the trip with 1.5K profit. Nuff said

Greetings fellow Mad Scientists,

I am relatively new to BE (made it a few nights ago) and I have been reading this forum since before then. I am aware that the profession is bugged for now but I thought I would get in while there are only a few of us. I am looking forward to when we will be in great demand...after we are fixed, that is.

In the mean time...how do you make any money and still advance? And what is the best item to craft while trying to work your way up the ladder?

DNA Sampling is fairly easy. I just went to Lok and had 25K sampling xp in about 2 hours using mask scent and working my way from Nym's down to the volcano and back sampling everything. Almost nothing aggroed on me there. When I got back to Tatooine, well, that was a different story. Everything aggroed...odd.

Anyway...this money thing is really kicking my but. Trying to maintain a house and harversters and at the same time harvesting animals for meat and DNA and making a butt-ton of items is more like a full-time job than a game. I don't do this much work at my real job!

I am losing the battle right now and would appreciate some advice.

Any tips on plain making money quickly?

I am doing Bounty Hunter, and find that I spend alot on buffs, space shuttle ticket, weapon and armour upkeep, droids, slices.

I would like to know what you guys do to make money.

Buy a wind generator, sell the energy at 2cpu, buy more generators, sell, move up to solars, sell, move up to fusions, etc....

Just went over 2 million using this method.

You will need novice artisan for this. Otherwise, look for a lot of generators in one spot and try planting near there.

Ive found a great way to make money...but if I tell everyone then everyone will do it and ill lose a business which has netted me 1.8m in 7 days.

I have been tempted to jack it in but im tempted to go back as I know the demand is sky high. Theres only so much cash I can spend at a time...

I know certain professions will pay people to survey for them <cough><cough> or pay for the usage of anothers lots <cough><cough>...

go to any secondary planet and run group missions. if you are a crafting profession, pick up at least marksman. on the corbantis server, the dantooine imperial outpost always has a big group going out. ask about it on your server.
