Proton Torpedoes were used to take out the first Death Star.

Concussion Missiles were used on the second Death Star's reactor Core. Wedge Antille's used his lasers to take out part of the tower, but Lando fired the Falcon's hidden Concussion Missiles to finish off the reactor.

The biggest factor that keeps Y-Wings around in the Alliance/New Republic is that they are sturdy enough to survive a few hits so that they can get close enough to slam a bunch of Proton Torpedoes into their target. That's why their *primary* role is as a bomber.

So yes, Missiles are "Star Warsy", even if we look at just the original Trilogy, missiles played a very important role in the story. Neither Death Star would have been taken down with just laser fire. Sure Lando could have had someone man the Quad-Lasers and blast at the reactor, but the TIE's that survived the flight into the core would have blown the Falcon to bits before the lasers would have done enough damage. Not to mention the several Alliance capitol ships that would have been lost to the superlaser during the time it would have taken them to destroy it.

If I may correct someone's post, The X-wing can carry 6 proton torps if I"m correct using multiple refrences. Concussion missles are armed with something similar to an pulse that is strong against smaller ships hence they are used by interceptor type fighters mainly. Proton torps are more for attacks on capital ships and large installations. now will this carry over to the game I don't know since I"m not in beta but hopefully they hold true in that respect. as for warheads in the movies, they were shown in EP1, EP2,EP4, and EP6
