Thread: so think shipwrights will...

Well....when grinding, it's usually a good idea to use crap resources and then use practice mode. That grants bonus xp (5% I think) I don't think you'll want to own a ship that was build with grind quality resources....not to mention, when grinding, you don't typically do any experimentation, so the ship and components will stink to high hades.

I guess that if a shipwright grinded up his experimentation tree first, then was able to get the skills to producea baseline starter ship, then that would be a good enough ship to help his friends out until he finishes the grind.

150cpu??? Please don't tell me the resource inflation is gonna come back. I'm liking stuff being back to the NORMAL level of 1-2 CPU. If it goes back up to those ridiculous Jedi-grind numbers, I'll become an artisan myself.

provide your local shipwright with 2000 steel, 1000 aluminum, 1000 low grade ore, 1000 inert petro, and you'll have a startership. then throw in another 500 copper, 500 inert gas, 500 radioactive, 800 steel, 800 iron, 200 fiberplast, 600 carbonate ore, and 200 liquid petro and you'll have all the parts you need as well. On the downfall, you'll need to tip about 5-10k credits to the shipwright for the time it takes to throw it all together to get your:

chasis blueprints
weapons capitator
Engine
Reactor
Shield
Armor
Blaster
Booster
Droid interface

Heh, or you can just talk to the Pilot Trainer and get your starter ship free. But you're more than welcome to buy one of you like.

1. Creature Handlers charged 100k to TRAIN mounts.

2. Droid Engineers charge near 100k on some servers for R3's.

3. Architects charge 150k for Fusions. (as an arkie it takes me about 79k to make one)

4. Armorsmiths charge 300-500k for Composite Armor (which costs them about 30k to make)

5. What's up with Sonic Blasters costing 300k? How about AV21's costing 500k?

So to answer the question, if we're stupid enough to pay their prices, then yes Shipwrights will charge as much as they can sucker out of you.

The trick is knowing someone. My friend sells composite (good stuff) for 250k, and thats his price to the public. Know someone who is a shipwright =)

Something that might scare you: No one knows how much ships or ship components will actually cost...not even beta testers.

There is no set price. Each server is different, and each shipwright is different. Most large PAs are going to get ships for free, since the pa has been hoarding resources.

I personally feel ships will be much cheaper than folks think, if you are patient and smart about getting one. I think some ships may even show up on the bazaar for 6k.

I just find it totally funny that anyone is expecting people to be able to pay in the millions for ships.

I have only ever made 2 million creds, thats the most i have ever had and 1 mil of that dissapeared very quickly when i bought a new set of comp armor, some imp PSG's, a crate of brandy and some weapons. the second million got chopped in half when i bought a wookie friend of mine some 80% Kinetic wook armor.

I'm playing this game for fun,not for profit and paying 12 mil for a ship is not my idea of fun.

I may just take up shipwright just so that i can make ships and sell them for 6 k a piece.

it costs the shipwright nothing to make. and its far from hardwork.

Sure, if you want a non upgradable ship without hyperdrive capability =)
