Whoever said the TIE Oppressor was a joke needs to spend a little less time in the Interceptor cockpit. It is not always the fastest ship that wins the fight. The Oppressor fills a much-needed role in the Imperial Navy. Think of it as a "jacked up TIE Bomber". The TIE roster is filled with fast, nimble little ships. The Oppressor is as close as the Imps get to a heavier "assauly" style snubfighter. I will admit, the older model was a bit weak, but with the increased mass, it's a much more viable contender. I mean, what would you like in it's place, an ever-so-slightly faster TIE Advanced?
