I'll say right off the bat I'm not bitching, I just want to make sure I know what all my options are.
I can (a) Grind for a couple days every three weeks, or (b) Accept a BH death to get off the terminals and hope I can make up the xp before another one comes after me.
Am I missing anything?
You forgot (c) Cancel in disgust.

The Flash Speeder is not available to anyone in-game for "millions of credits". It was a special EBgames/Gamestop pre-order promotion that was only available with a pre-order.
Now, as far as the veteran reward Sorosuub Yacht. This is something that is provided to every account that has been active for 6 consecutive months. You use the command /claimveteranreward in-game to recieve it. As far as I know, you do not need JTL to claim it, but you will obviously need JTL to fly it.
You will not be getting the Flash Speeder because you did not pre-order and recieve the promotional disc from EBgames or Gamestop. However, there is no reason that you should not be able to claim your Sorosuub, provided your account has been active for at least 6 consecutive months.
Do not go out and buy another copy of JTL; I would be calling SOE customer support to get this ironed out if your key does not work on the 27th. It is basically their mistake, after all.

So now I'm screwed because I didn't read your mind and pre-order from EB Games or GameSpot (even though clicking on the "Pre-Order Now" button on the SWG website by the Millennium Falcon takes you directly to the JtL ordering page on the LucasArts website) and now, because I followed instructions, my JtL may be rendered null and void because I installed the game today just hours before you put the message out?
I've been screwed all the way around. Thanks. Really looking forward to playing JtL now...oh yeah, that is, after buying another copy to replace my null and void one.
not a flame, but it's your own fault. They have been saying that the game's officialrealease date was the 27th and that if u pre-ordered and got the game in time, u could begin play on the 26th. You cannot blame them for this, the game was just doing what it was programmed to do by telling u to register and stuff, sry man, but this one is all on u. the message did not come out only hours ago, i saw it earlymonday morning. no offense but you should have known when u attempted to play two days before the official release date.
and btw, the sorosuub was not a part of pre-order. it is the veteran reward that u get if your account has been active for 6 months or more consecutively

Where does it say that registering your copy will make your copy "null and void"... I doubt they'll do anything to your account. They just didn't want you to register yet.
Off the main page.
** Please note: to all of you who may have received copies already, the expansion will not be available until October 27th. Please do not register your expansion until we launch on the 27th. Registering your expansion before tomorrow's launch will result in your Jump to Lightspeed Account Key not being recognized as valid.

I'm new to pistols and I'm just wondering what guns I should use in regards to my task. I think I have it down, but if anyone has anything else to add, that would be great.
DE10: Jedi Killer
GEO: PvP
Modified Republic/FWG5: PvE
Thanks.

Really whatever your best damage pistol is, that is your jedi killer. Mine happens to be a geo
Also you need a good Geo AND a good scatter(DX2) for PVP, that is crucial.

try and find a prenerf scatter pistol, the kind that could hit 500+ with a pup since acid damage goes past PSG's and most people wear stun armor and stun psg's in pvp now pretty much taking away our good stun weapon
