Thread: Just out of curiosity, am I the only one who thinks JTL is working as intended, and well?
Oh yes, I agree, the horizon's been looking very, very bright recently! It's just that Ratape made it sound like its always worked this way. I have been playing this since Day 1 (technically Day 2

Well, it *is* changing with the departure of GrindBot from the Development Team. SoE shook things up quite a bit in the past three months. A thread discussing current bugs WITH THE RESPONSE FROM A DEVELOPER INTERJECTED THROUGHOUT was unheard of a mere six months ago. There's hope.

As with most games, there are problems, but you just let the player correspondants know and they'll get taken care of.Sorry, not to get down on what is intended to be an upbeat post (which I agree with!), but that comment there really jumped out at me. Don't we wish it worked out like that?
Having played since release, you wouldn't believe the changes I have seen this game go through after they started the player correspondant system. Is it perfect? No, but I definently think voicing the concerns to a player correspondant will get the problem taken care of at some point in time, or at least raise the chances of that problem getting taken care of. The only problem I myself have with JTL right now is the fact I am stuck unable to find enough people to kill the corvette, and that's because it's hard to find helpful people on Lowca (Just look at how bad the lowca galaxy forums are)

Am I the only one who enjoys balancing out his 3 ships with the proper mix of loot and crafted components to make my X-wing a superiority fighter, my B-wing a heavy bomber and my A-wing a lightweight recon fighter better at getting out of trouble than getting in it? Am I the only one that thinks ships should have independent roles, and that half the fun of gaining rank is being able to use new and better ships?
More to be added, but tell me someone else truly enjoys the game as is, and doesn't think anything major needs changing.

You're right, I wouldn't believe the changes, hehe. I have also played since release, and for several months after the correspondent system was introduced, the only thing that ever came of it was the monthy "Give us your top 5 issues" thread by the devs, when the top 5 issues for every profession were already stickied to top of their boards. Now, I'm not saying that no progress was made, but there certainly wasn't much of it either.
I'm also not saying that the devs did nothing at all, they did do quite a bit, but as far as the whole corresponent thing went, for most of us it was like talking into a black hole.
Recently, of course, things have gotten much, much better in terms of communication and implementation. What strikes me about your comments is that you make it sound like the system has always been as productive as it is now, and I just want to emphasize that it wasn't always this way.
That being said, I really don't disagree with you, lol! I am really excited about the direction the game and the devs have taken lately, and I feel that JtL was extremely well done. The only major flaw in it as far as I'm concerned is the dearth of any master level content, and lack of interesting loot items. But otherwise, I'm logging flight time every day, and hardly ever see the ground anymore!

I definently would love more master level content, especially when I finally hit master! But indeed the correspondant system has not been as productive as it has been now. I also very rarely spend time on the ground, and once I hit master pilot I'll be spending even less time.

I feel its mostly working as intended, Although Tier 5 ships should take less hits to kill but deal a bit more damage when they hit you.
Ever see tier 5 NPC ships go at it? they take like 1-2 % off shields per hit, kinda makes you wonder.
