The money probably won't be spent on making a better game, chances are it's one of the following:
Trying to make everquest compete with world of warcraft while ignoring our cries for help
Providing union kickbacks, company cars, stock options, etc while ignoring our cries for help

doesnt matter what the cash will be used for. they are going to charge for the game and well have to pay for it, thats how it works.
as for ignoring our pleas for help... LOL thats one of the funniest things ive ever heard. since when does an international corporation care about cries for help from consumers? ,, lol

Heres an idea you can all stop complaining and moaning, and wait till SOE releases the offical notes and then decided what you want to do then. All this uselsss banter isnt doing anyone any good. The only thing good outta this is that the DEVs are reading this and laughing there butts off cause everyone sounds like 5 yr old children. Just wait. If you dont want to pre order, then thats fine. Just wait for the box expansion to come out in stores and you might even get lucky and it will be cheaper than the pre order bundle. If you never thought of that then you all need to stop typing and take a breather.

I agree, I paid the full price for JTL when it was release so it only seems fair that we should get to download ROTW for free, the same as people who buy ROTW get JTL for free...
If I have to pay I may not bother with it at all, since its only 1 new planet, and I'll feel cheated for buying JTL early and not waiting to get it free.

I will pay for the new expansion. ROTW requires JTL so those that held off on JTL but are interested in rotw probably wouldn't buy it if they had to buy both.By them gettingJTL bundled free with ROTW we may see an increase in the amount of people in space as a side effect of ROTW. Also by keeping the buy-in price low we might continue seeing new people in SWG as a whole.
When I decided to buy Everquest a while back I bought the platinum edition since it included all expansions. Would I have even played the game if I had to buy the game for $50 and all seven expansions for $25 each? No. But since they were bundled for a low price I decided to check out the game. Simple fact of life as games age the price has to come down to attract new players. Do you seriously think people that bought EQ and the expansions got ripped off because I could buy the game so cheap? Nope, they got their value out of playing a game they enjoyed for many years before I came along.

$25 for a new planet new space zone a few new features (any new playable spices ???)
a 100 new missions a few more beastys to go hunt (that will be fun considering what Kashyyyk is known for.)
you also have a problem with plant resorces. what happens when a new weapon requres Kashyyyk dolovite iron such as the Kashyyyk swords n pikes n stuff this will mean any weaponsmith without the expantion needs to buy the resorces off tom, rick n harry at high cost.
Hunhting on kashyyyk may be more profitable then on say dantooine dathomear or yavin 4 due to the rodien hunting camps.
big new world who knows maybe there are some things on this planet that are only accsessable on this world such as rare items or even resorces like the krayt perl.
i personly don't know whats gonna happen with the expantion there is no telling what will be added but i for one will get the expantion for fun and also to explore kashyyyk

In my opinion the montly fee should be enough to get this kind of updates for free. The payment is not to actually PLAY the game since we have already paid for the actual game.
The montly fee is to support all the developers working every day on this game so i really don`t understand the concept of paying for an expansion since if you think about it , we already are !

Well the mining thing is part of JTL, so anyone with JTL will probably be able to do that. It sounds like the addon we have to pay for is just a new planet and some ugly metal arms (which will be as common as comp if they have any bonuses and will look stupid). I dont think its worth paying for ontop of the a monthly subscription and an addon I paid full price for and died 2 weeks later.

Then dont buy it. SImple as that. Unfortunately we live in a capitalist society in which profit is the driving force. SOE is part of a humongous international corporation. THat corporation is only is business to make money. They dont really care about anything else except making money. WHy do you think they should spend all that time programming the expansion, just to give it away? They dont care about you or me. They care about money. I know its cold, but its the truth.

There are also the overheads that running a MMORPG would run up, the monthly fee doesn't just go to paying for more content but also to keep the game runing and we do get small content upgrades that we don't pay for. Imagin how long we would have to wait for even the small parts of this expansion if it was for free and part of the normal publishes.

I agree they owe us a discount at the least. Because ROTW by itself is NOT worth 25 dollars. Its only one Planet an a few random small features. They are justifying this 25 dollar price tag by the fact that JTLS is being included with it. Without JTLS it would be worth 5 dollars at the most. So yes people that have an account enabled with JTLS should get a discount.
