i tend to agree, early buyers of JTL should get SOMETHING if they buy RotW. Be it an in game item, or a rebate or something.

I think that if we bought JTL previously and we then buy RotW we should get 2 months free on subscribtion ($15 * 2 = $30). That way we get compensaded for having bought it before hand and still having to pay for RotW.

wow big debait here
i kinda feel that if you buy RoTW with the JTL addon included it should cost the good old $29.99 but you should also have the chance to buy RoTW on its own if you allready own JTL for half the price maybe say $15.00 ??
i mean saying JTL comes free is kinda silly maybe saying JTL comes with the $29.99 package as JTL is needed to use the RoTW expantionset.
who knows maybe afrer a few more years SWG will be a free download and you just subscribe there after lol.
SOE have a real lame marketing stratigy that undermines all us players who have bought their games at cost with in days of release.
i found the Flash speeder promo extreamly unfair for one, i never had a chance to preorder within the UK for store pickup cos we don't have Gamestop stores over here.
SOE are penlizeing the JTL players by giving them people who couldn't be asked to by JTL in the first place, however most of the people who will buy RoTW would allready own JTL anyways so it seems like what was the point.
maybe the buy RoTW+JTL+SWG collection boxset would be a nice buy
but RoTW+JTL is a little lame unless you can buy RoTW on its own at discounted standard prices

im glad that there drawning new players int othe game with rotw and jtl being a bundle pack, but look at it this way. i bought jtl before anybody even knew about rotw. then they turn around and say, for the same price, i could have bought rotw and jtl? so basically ill be spending 50$ when i could of only spent 25$ ? im not rich, i dont make alot of money atm and im a full time student, so there saying becuase i was anxious to get jtl instead of waiting i end up having to drop ANOTHER 25 to get rotw when i coulda waited and gotten both? doesnt seem to fair to me. dont give me the game for free, thats fine, but give me something

If you don't want to wait, then you have to pay. Everything works like that. Games start out at $50 and go down after about a month or two. Systems follow a similar trend. You could use the same arguement with the original Nintendo system. "If I had waited 10 years or however long that system has been around for, I could have just downloaded those games for free onto my PDA which actually has more processing power than the original system had."
Point is, want content now? You gotta pay. Willing to wait? That's ok, most people aren't, so your unspent money has no effect on them.

This must be the First MMORPG you have had...
pretty much all the publishers follow this schema
It only makes sense to package JTL with RotW, for many reasons.
In Asheron's call after about a year, they enabled everyone who had not purchased the expansion account so they could use the content. Now why would they do that? one is from a programming standpoint its much better to have everyone running the same version.
did the people (me included) complain that others got it for free? no... because they had had 1 year of the game before everyone else and got their moneys worth.
as a game ages the price comes down... every game follows this little buisness rule...
so in Present value dollars JTL is no where near what a brand new expansion is worth.

I have to side with the original post here. It is very bad business, regardless of who you say or imply has done this in the past.
As per the argument that it is important that we all run the same stuff.. BS. half now have jtl, the other half dont. (I suspect many more than half wont have ROTW)
Aside from the point of it being unfair (imo) to the loyal players to date (it is no less than a slap in the face), I cannot justify spending $25 on a VERY meager and humble "expansion" that adds so little.
1 planet? We were promised 3 planets with jtl initially.
how will you feel in 4 months after ROTW comes out that another expansion comes out and ohh. we happen to have one more planet? lol.
100 new missions? Im sorry SOE, but no matter what color the sky.. no matter who says "Can you please help me find my friend", it is still the same low quality content.
Cybernetic Body parts? Nice, way to keep up with the Starwars of this game. Did this suddenly turn into Anarchy Online Galaxies?
tell me, what part of this is worth 25 bucks? I just can't quantify it.
No, I can skip a $25 planet that offers nothing new and nothing wanted to this game. Besides, im sure in 5 months the next expansion will roll out and I can get it for free.
those who do otherwise do nothing more than justify WHY SOE should continue to treat it's customers in such a way and end up becoming a part of the problem(s) of SWG rather then helping to fix it.

I went and bought a brand new car
I get into the car to leave, wont start. no engine
i sit there 2 yrs "may i have an engine now?"
yes, here it is and it's free.
Question: do I thank them for fixing something that should never have been broken in the first place.. for free?

It would be fair, but it wouldn't be a reasonable request to a large company either. It's their dicision to set pricing. They wouldn't be doing anything illegal if they were selling RotW at 500$ a box.
Hoever, unless RotW is dirt cheap, I'm not buying it as it is. A Yavin-like planet with some metal limbs? Hmmmm.... I'll pass.

Too bad that nobody knew there was even gonna be another expansion in the first place. Secondly, people would've assumed that SOE wouldn't rip them off because they decided to buy the product within the first six months of release. If I'd known about this offer, I probably would've waited. Saying that our complaining is unfounded is pretty dumb since your reason was "You weren't willing to wait."

you people have no idea what your jabbering about, why dont you understand that this is good business and SOE is not trying to burn you intentionally? sheesh you people think you are so entitled.i dont get it..
rotw NEEDS jtl to run. so they offer it together for EASE...
and like i said before. you want a reward for buying jtl in the first place before this expansion? we ALREADY GOT ONE... its called being able to play it for a long time before this expansion..
No one is going to give anyone a discount. so forget about it. just shut up andopen your wallets... yay capitalism!
or the alternative is dont by the exansion or leave the game if you feel cheated... neither course wrinkles my nose any.
