Thread: Marooned on Kashyyyk

That isnt the only way to get trapped on Kashyyyk. I flew directly from naboo space to the Avatar with my group and landed. After finishing the mission I thought I would take a short cut to Kashiro and opted to eject from the Avatar to Kashiro directly.

When it came time to fly back to naboo, much to my surprise my ship was back at Kadaara and I was stranded =(. It wouldnt hurt to put a one way shuttle terminal in the Kashiro starport. I am not the only one getting stuck there and it should be addressed.

They should just add a freighter pilot who will take you to Mos Eisley and vice versa. Just through him in the Mos Eisley cantina (and at the kash starport) where all the other crazy space pilots would hang out.

Hunting the mercenary frieghters by the space station. Got too close...eject from ship. Kashyyyk space station *WILL NOT REPAIR* any of ship. Instead they give me crap about blowing them up. Suggest I land..then they will fix the ship. So I land.

Go to launch ship. Uh-uh...engine is disabled.

Hmm...travel. Ooops...no engine.

Buy a ticket and shuttle home...get other ship. Ooops...no shuttle service.

Call for help. Fiance' doesn't have wookie expansion...

Oh Fudge! I'm marooned on Kashyyyk!!!

/edit to fix spelling and continue saga...

/passes this info onto the devs

Great tip Grupert!

Actually the OP missed one step - when he landed he got a new badge.

The kash station will repair you as long as you have landed at least once (it came in a patch note during beta or shortly after launch IIRC)

The reason to do the kash station missions is to open up the sweet tier 5 duty missions from the YT orbiting the station and to open up the Heavy Tier 4 ship missions (Vaksai etc...)

Yeah, but once he landed, he was unable to launch again, due to being crippled.

Shh!!! That's logic. Verrry dirty language amongst whiners.

It may not have been clear from the begining post, but I thought this was a funny story..not a whine. I just found it amusing that out of all the space stations, in all the areas of space, the only one that won't repair you until you've landed happened to be Kashyyk. It is certainly an effective way to players to at least *see* some new content. But it causes some funny moments. Hence the "ooops" in the original message. I'm certain there are other places in the ground game that cause similar "oh fudge...I'm stuck" moments as well.

From a content idea, its wonderful. Much of science fiction is oriented around the wayfarer whose ship breaks down and they are beached on a local planet and have to 1) fix ship; 2) fight off natives; 3) rescue damsel. It was a neat idea.

Also, those that have suggested keeping a repair kit handy, I'd agree, if you could use it in space. As I recall, you have to be on the ground. Why do that when a space station can fix it...without having to land and go through all that launch crap again?

Sorry, badly worded - point was to make clear to TH this was a patch note the devs implemented on purpose, the workaround is simply to make sure you land before doing any fighting on those ships near the station. The devs didn't give clear logic, but it was a clear intention.

Possibly off topic could be a discussion on whether the merc freighters should give xp at all (given the group xp changes and the logic behind them there are easy to make arguments for grinding on those freighters being an exploit and due a nerf)

(I am glad they haven't yet as yesterday dropping pilot while inspired gave me a -93,000 pilot xp hole I had to dig out of, and those were easy to do it on)

I actually made a post a week or so back about this.

What I had sugested is that there is a pilot in the cantina, and he will offer you a lift for 10 thousand, all in advance, but then at this point he drops you at a random starport, to where you can get anywhere else.

Someone asked for a lift off of kashyyyk one day, and I know how much of a pain it can be if your ship is disabled, so I said sure. I was headed to Mos Eisley so that is where I went. We got there and he asked why we were here, he didn't want to come here.

He didn't seem to happy when I said that he can now go anywhere in the galaxy and wasn't stuck on a planet.

Least you helped. I've gone along with a group of people in a multipassenger ship and gotten stranded there. It's a pain getting off when friends don't have the expansion, luckily a few of them had friends they could get to come by. It's a pain getting trapped there, so I rarely even drop in there anymore..not like much is there that's too interesting anyway.
