I'm having a ball with my YT-1300, although I cheat and have a second pc with another toon on it as gunner. My son jumps on and helps me from time to time when he isn't spazzing out (he's 11 and a serious SW geek) and I can find a static spawn, park strategically and he and I man both guns. I ran with that setup and another player on the top gun last night and were pretty effective against tier 5's but haven't gotten the nerve to pitch in on a corvette with it. I actually enjoyed flying the ship lining up shots for the turrets as it takes some situational awareness to do.

Additionally, gunner takes a lot of practice to be effective, with my son and I shooting I didn't even have to overcharge my cap but when the other player took the gun he was wasting a lot of shots and tapping the cap. However, I think the second seat is a big waste of player contribution, you can't even look around and can only execute droid commands, even though you don't have to be certified to take that seat. You DO have to be the same faction, or non-pilot to take the seat, I tested this with one of my alts. It would be nice if there could be some system repair functions available to the co-pilot seat, but I haven't had a full crew nor have I had my YT-1300 get shot down....yet, so I may reconsider my opinion of that seat.

I'm not getting involved on this conversation for one core reason (while I disagree about the falcon having forward guns) we are comparing the most modified ship in the galaxy The Millenium Falcon to our YT's that are NOT the Falcon nor should they be.

As far as the last question... Yes I still fly the Flare 2-3 times a week, I am still as deadly in it with my crew as I am in my fighter (in PVE that is) and have more fun in the Flare than in anything else in the game.
