You can only get double shields (to my knowledge) by using shield ADJUST. You can essentially get a 1.5x front shield at the cost of a 0.5x rear shield. With a 2000/2000 shield, you could instead have a 3000/1000 shield.

You can't use reinforce to get your shields above their stated maximum. (if your shield is max 2000/2000, and you have current shield power of 1000/2000, moderate shield reinforcement will give 2000/1000 by transfering half of the energy stored. If you have 1900/2000 and you use moderate reinforcement you seem to get 2000/1000 with the rest of the energy lost, you do NOT get above the original 2000.)

I haven't played around with emergency front and rear yet, so I'm not sure how they work, but it was stated that these commands just increase the regeneration rate, not the overall strength. Eshields also does this, but makes it so that you can't fire for the duration, and it IS possible to get destroyed through Eshields. I got hit by 5 aggressors that spawned RIGHT behind me last night. Even with Eshields they burned through my 2550/2550 shield in about 5 seconds and killed me in another 5. It is NOT the amazing PvP killing command that non-rebels think that it is.

What about Shield Shunt?

Emergency front/back do not increase the regeneration rate, instead it takes all of the sheild energy from one and puts all of it in the other. The effect is instant and does not require a long charge up and does not disable or damage any components. So if you have 2000/2000 shields and during battle you front sheilds get taken completely out (0/2000), then you can use emergency front to make your front shields 2000/0. The regeneration rate of the sheilds remain the same. the command is what it says it is, an emergency......basically it's most useful when your doing a bombing run on a gun boat, corvette or whatever....your front shields will get eaten up very quickly and you won't be taking any damage from behind unless you have enemy ships behind you.....It's good for giving you extra shield power to stay on your bombing run as long as possible....maybe even totally disabling or destroying your targeted component......then when you need to turn and get away....you can use emergency shields to nearly quadruple your sheild regen rate.

I use emergency front/back along with e-shields all the time....I do a lot of imp boats in kessel.....but the good thing about these two commands is you can use them both at the same time......one is a pilot command and the other is a droid command.....the emergency front/back is the droid command and you can use it as often as your droid interface allows.....I can use a droid command every 30 seconds because my droid interface is very fast.

The pilot commands have a longer timer between uses...approxiatematly about 3 minutes (but I haven't timed it..just a guess).

As far as shield shunt, I have used it but I'm not 100% sure on exactly what it does....I have seen no visable difference in my shield regen rate or strength of my shield....it's possible it works like the shield adjust commands but I'm not sure...I have to play with it for a while and see what it does exactly.
