I to played through beta, and am now 4/4/4/4, just waiting on a group to finish my last 3 missions. Hell 
I been waiting for 3 weeks, but I am in no hurry really, I know I will get there. I also know I can do my next mission solo, it would just take a couple hours, and no dogfight should take that long. I remember as far back as beta, people complaining about hitting targets. I even remeber about talk of invunerability on the top and bottom. Well I tested and tested this concept but it seems that I could not recreate it, when I shoot I hit. If you have been around since beta, then you should know you do not fire right at the 'lead target retical', depending on your angle of attack (this means what angle you are fireing from, ie...behind or to the side) you may have to fire inside of your 'lead target retical'. All ship's in the game are good and all factions are balanced, it just depends on what style of flying you perfer, and (oh no th 'S' word) your skill. Get to know your ship, if you are doing something that does not work, change your tatics or change your ship.
