Cheers - might try that. Have found that the new asteroid field in Dantooine (I think it's new - looks a whole lot bigger than I remember!) now slows down my graphics immensely.

'game options' on the launchpad, hit the 'graphics' tab, and change vertex/pixel shader version to diabled.

My framerate is approximately half what it was before.

And since I was borderline before... I'm finding myself having to get help for even easy missions, especially those with timers on them since I have to make five or six attempts to hit anything once.

So yeah... I'd say its pretty close to unplayable unless I stick to specific areas in a few space sectors.

I've had the same problems with frame rates about 7-10fps. I improved this by turning off in the optionsshow cockpit and change the field of view (increasing)which has improved my aim . Only last night I was getting problems with drunken bumble bee effects, with ping timesaround100ms on european-chimaera. I evenbeen able to play happily with 1500msin JTL without problems.

Yes - it seems like that there is some new vertex/pixel things that is slowing frame rate for some graphics cards.

However if you have following syndromes:

  • High FPS (in my case 30 fps all time)
  • Good Internet connection (no packet loss)
  • Good enough ping (my normal ping is between 83-103)
  • Other ships are sometimes (not allways) doing erratic movement a.k.a. "drunken bumble bee"
  • Sometimes your ship speed drop to 0 and then quickly accelerate back to set speed

You could try this solution.

space has also become unplayable for me on bria. i'm trying to do the imperial inquisition mission to kill colonel hend with a group of 5 players and it's impossible.our fps drops because of all the ships in the distance with the targets around them and any time we get in combat we see the "bumble bee syndrome" in the opposing ships. we all have different top of the line systems and shouldn't be experiencing this. it's not a joystick problem.

I have an NVidia 6800 Ultra video card, and I've noticed a big drop in frame-rate, between 5-10fps+. On my laptop, I always got a smooth30fps fluctuating between 20-30fps, now it's between 1-20fps (like a slideshow intermittently). I've noticed there is a lot ofharddrive loading going on (this would cause warping on the client side as it plays catch-up). The two systems I've played it on both have more then 1gb DDR ram (all around high-performance systems).I hope there will be some performance tuning, SWG at one point was very optimized graphically.

PS. The RoTW expansion is absolutely gorgeous! SOE did a fantastic job on it!
