The new Genosian DXR6B rifle does AP2 and Acid damage.
The cert for it is messed up right now, at least before todays patch. I do not know if that has changed yet. The cert is supposed to be somewhere on the third tier of Rifleman, I believe, but even as a Master Rifleman, I was showing "Certified = No." Fortunately,I was not getting the "You are not certified to use this weapon. You will do less damage" message. I do not know what would happen for someone lower in the tree though. Either way when they fix the cert, people who have not reached that point in the tree yet would get less damage using it. I cannot say if that will happen right now, but eventually it would. But we do have an acid weapon now.
Just do regular Bio Effect Controlers. Not the advanced ones. You get half the xp per item, but it uses common, cheap ingrediants you can sample yourself anywhere, or buy for dirt cheap.
If money is no issue - buy the specialty resources and do the advanced ones... make stim-Cs with them and then use all those stim-cs to heal the /tumbletostanding friend of yours.
