Thread: I looted this last night from a Tier V in Dathomir.

Ahh, my favorite looted ship part is one I have on display in my museum. It's called "Shield V2.... THIS ITEM IS BUGGED, PLEASE REPORT IT", or something like that. I can't remember the full name, but it's along those lines saying that the item is bugged and to report it. The actual name is quite a bit longer, though.

You had to pay for the ship the trainer gave you? How so?

The Tier 0 ships made by shipwrights are still superior to the new upgradeable ship the trainer gives out.

Be realistic rather than pessimistic, please.

I never said I paid for a starter ship. I said I had to pay for a ship that came with hyperdrive and could be upgraded. My starter ship was a flying ball of tinfoil, incapable of hyperspatial travel, nor could it have any of it's components even looked at, let alone removed/replaced/upgraded. The point being, a new pilot doesn't need 1 credit now. Are you saying that shipwrights will not only build these "superior" Tier 0 ships, but also give them away for free. And buy the noob pilot the chassis, too? I think you're the one not being realistic, there. My first ship was FREE. Compared to what new pilots get now, many of us got shafted. I simply say, put the noob ship back the way it was (flying junk, basically) and make pilots buy a ship if they want hyperdrive and upgrades. Why make it easier on the new pilot while harder on the pilot that didn't get the easier start? Take a look around. I'm not the only one with problems. However, I am still here and playing this game rather than running to something else.

Oh, yeah, I see. Because the pilot profession is just sooooo profitable, beginner pilots can pay out the nose for the ships. Yeah....right....

Anyway, you have the starter ship for all of, what, Tier 1? Then you'll be looking for a Tier 2 ship after that anyway.

I don't know about you, but the shipwrights in my guild sold a total of ZERO Tier 0 and Tier 1 ships in the whole time JTL was live and in beta.

So, give me a break and whine about something at least half-way tangible. Did it seriously put you out that bad to buy a low teir ship with hyperdrive??

ahh, far to much pessimism on the pilot forums lately,

cheer up, it could always be much worse.

your issue, where they changed the newbie ship, to upgradeable, its not that big of a deal, i dont care that that happend, because i know, that, the crafted ones, i didnt even USE the starter ship, knowing what it was like, so, i purchased a Z95 on the first day JTL released.

yes, the starter ship currently is free, but the player would still have to use loot components to upgrade it, and those loot at the beggining, are quite frankly, mostly crap, other than the engines, which are good for tier 1-2, the player would still have to purchase stuff, weapons, shields, ect.

just my honest opinion.

like i said before, it could always be worse, arent we all glad that JTL was released, with very, few bugs? to be honest, i have only seen one bug since JTL came out, and thats the loot being named improperly.

on a side note, yesterday i was killing some ties, looking for a particular engine they droped that was fairly good and level 8, , i have 7, want to RE a set of em, however, i killed one, and it suposedly said it droped that engine, the last one i needed. however.... it was a level 1 capacitor -_-

I haven't noticed misnamed loot items yet (I'll pay more attention), but I have noticed stats being incorrect.

I have a shield generator that says "10 000/1754". I WISH that it was truely a 10k shield! LOL

>>Anyway, you have the starter ship for all of, what, Tier 1? Then you'll be looking for a Tier 2 ship after that anyway.

IF, you are sitting on a few million, buying a new ship is easy. But JTL isn't supposed to be for bored gazillionaires who are tired of hawking Rug Glue for cash from thier AV-21s. FOe some who started SWG and JTL at the first time GASP ! They have diddly, and coming up with that money isn't very easy with an economy that supports 500K + rug glue.

>>I don't know about you, but the shipwrights in my guild sold a total of ZERO Tier 0 and Tier 1 ships in the whole time JTL was live and in >>beta.

Lets's see who's whining.... Damn! a profession we can't grind through in 6 hours, and make a million credits, and quit. And Imagine, no one in beta wanted to buy a ship...Hmmm. Everyone I saw in beta was giving ships away.

>>So, give me a break and whine about something at least half-way tangible. Did it seriously put you out that bad to buy a low teir ship >>with hyperdrive??

Geez, don't know Mr. YT-1300, Firespray etc. (I've seen asking prices for those. There's not enough money in eBay credits already ?!?) For some of us it did. And were damn upset to see that money wasted when anyone can now start with a Hyper capable ship.

Look, there's no need for whizzing matches over this, but I think, If my server is any indication, rather than giving things away that others worked for, they ought to make working solo feasible.

I also feel I bought a $30.00 transit pass. Cute, fun, colorizable (whoooo) and a complete waste of my limited time. Finding 10 people to get througha mission ? Give me a break.

Next we'll have wall to wall carpet Phat Lewt. The games about paintings and carpets now. Where was the carpet in Star Wars ?!?!

Bah. and Humbug.

What I said was supporting the fact that beginning pilots such as yourself need these free upgradeable ships. Why are you arguing with me? I'm for you!

I'm not SW. Again, I was arguing for beginning pilots that don't have alot of money.

Again, I was arguing for beginning pilots that don't have alot of money. And I didn't pay a single credit for any ship I've ever owned.

My point exaclty. Where did we miscommunicate at??

If you noticed any of my other posts, I am for a change in the loot system.

Bah. and Humbug.

You have a strange way of saying you agree with me.

rofl, How in the world is someone arguing about JTL ship prices? I started a brand new char on bloodfin just to see what it was like to do the rebel missions and it was easier starting out now with no help than ever before!!!

I was in a ship and had over 100,000 credits to buy cloths and a bike and skills and weapons on my first day playing! And that was just running the teir 1 missions and getting the XP needed for the first row.

And on my normal char on Flurry I run duty missions just to get components for selling and make, on average, 300k for every duty mission I fly to the end (contrary to what the game says, duty missinos do have an end). It's fun and easy. The whole argument over what is expensive or what someone else is getting compared to what you get is BS...

Wow, ya gotta love it how this post turns from a light-hearted post about misnamed loot to a flame war about starter ships, lol! But in all honesty, I used a 5k cred Z95 I bought from a grinding SW to grind up my X-Wing, and by that time I had enough good loot to RE and cash saved up to buy the X-Wing of my dreams....only to buy an A-Wing three days later . I admit that ship prices are a bit high, but so is everything else in this game after the holo craze, and yelling about the inflated econ isn't gonna help anything. I also have experienced the client crahs for several days now, so I've been playing the new LOTR game (GREAT game). Ironically, I was getting bored of playing SWG all the time, so this has given me a chance to recooperate, so I won't be as cranky logging onto my server . So Ky, please lighten up and try to stick through this hard time, and if ya have some extra funds, start a mining biz to make more cash, or if you have some spare change, give it out to those newbies you seem so fond of . J/k, and PEACE OUT, AMERICA RULES!!

Spare cash doesn't exist in this game. I have over a mil in the bank, yes, but that's been slowly draining. It's really draining now thanks to the inability to actually kill things in space, but that's another issue. Misnamed loot is a bug, yes, but it's a bug that isn't keeping anyone from playing. There are bugs that are keeping people from playing, but crap like misnamed loot is getting more attention. Why is that? My whole point about the starter ship is that before this new hyper/upgrade capable ship, players without the cash had to struggle to get the exact same things that today's new pilot get handed to them for free. Is that really fair? No, it's not, and I don't care who you are. They do a lot to this game in the name of balance, yet they break things and change the rules causing things to get unbalanced. To make things easier for some and harder for others is not balance. I was one that had to start with the less capable starter ship, but I made it. I've seen posts where people say they never paid a credit for a ship, and that's nice that others are willing to buy them everything. My brother made my first 2 ships, but I still had to shell out the credits to buy the chassis and components.

I got talked into playing this game because of a friend who loved it. Guess what. He's given up on the game, and he started playing back when SWG was still beta. He helped me a lot, too, but he's sick of the bugs that stay in the game. He's seen effect of another player who is experiencing a bug on his own client. Any of you that say the game isn't bugged, I dare you to take a player with the "drunken bee" problem on a tier 3+ mission as a member for your group. You'll find yourself suffering major lag issues as a result. It's a bug that does effect everyone.
