Atomospearic flight will be in game sometime after the combat balance or the second coming of Christ...which ever comes first. Also look for increased content and helpful CSRs.

I can just imagine how hard it would be ...

first spotting a krayt / nightsister ...

and then shooting it down, well not much of a problem for krayt and big ones

but you need to be DARN accurate to hit a nightsister

and youll probably force-lightning your ass down to earth so she can choke you

Lag would be nasty for one, and the killing off high end mobs like the dragons and stuff. They could do air to ground combat in battlefeilds but they would have to be bigger.

Who know's how it would effect lag.

As far as making it easy to kill krayts etc, that's kinda the point. In a civilization with advanced technology, it shouldn't be hard to kill something like that. That means the game is poorly designed.

Today, if you wanted to kill a 50 ton lizard the size of a small aircraft carrier, would you walk up to it and start punching it, or would you fly over it in a helicopter an shoot missles atit?

Like I said, the "hard" content in a Starwars game should not be blowing up a giant iguana. It should be fighting sentient beings with weapons, weapons they can use to shoot your a$$ out of the sky.

For the 5 or so posts that I've seen mispell this word.... it's called ATMOSpheric flight... coming from the word ATMOSphere, how cany so many people mispell a word that we all come in contact with.. it's like having english your primary language but not being able to spell.. oh wait that's exactly what it is.

I don't mean to be rude, but please guys.. spell check so it's easier on us that need correct spelling, I'm kind of slow and it takes me awhile torealize what you mean when you spell everything incorrectly.

I don't know how "cany" you make a type-o like "cany"? The "N" is nowhere near the "Y", and there's no "y" in "can". If you're going to be petty listen to your own advice first.

I don't believe I was being petty, do you notice my second paragraph? "cany" is not a huge mistake.. you still know what I meant right? Oh, obviously you did. It took me 10 minutes of looking to see if Atomspearic flight was a real word. It seems like it could be a real word, but I found out it's not..

If they ever implement Atmospheric flight expect it to be not quite as what you imagine. With the ground being conventional statistic MMORPG style combat, and space being twitch, it would be impossible to really fairly intergrate the two. At best, for atmospheric flight you will find yourself just flying around in the atmosphere, fighting NPC or PC ships. it wont really be the ground, but like, an illusion as if your in the atmosphere, maybe as you go downward you canstart to see the various cities get bigger, and as you go up you start heading away from the planet. But a fully intergrated atmospheric flight will be fairly impossible

Atmospheric (I think I spelled it right.) would be good for a few reason I think:
1. Transportation more player incorperated -- ie. instead of starports waiting 5 minutes for a ship to land and instant transporting, people could make a living out of being a transport with their new yachts they can charge people for flight and items across the planet or galaxie (if it has hyperspeed). It might take longer but it would be more fun and people could talk and walk around while they are flying there.
2. Bounty Hunters, I hated when I was trying to do investigation that I'd have to wait for 5 minutes to catch a shuttle kill one guy, fly back and get a new mission. I think it would be cool if it was, get a mission find his location fly to him and then land and kill him.
3. I don't like the idea of using your ship in atmospheric fighting but I do want to fly on the ground because I think landing will be more fun than going to a space station and saying you want to land, And it not going in your data pad.
4. to go with three, people could steal your ship if you weren't careful which would be fun because it would make more realistic.. (Flame away) but I think it'd be fun if there were stolen ships on the market people finding out and putting bounties on the people taking their ships.

More to come.

Well in KOTOR you used mines to kill one why not in this game????

Or instead of being able to kill them for there perals you had to raid caves to get them and one of those bad boys turn up you had better start running.

The one good thing about this, would be a buddy picking me up in his shuttle while I'm being chased by a bounty hunter.

The only bad thing I see with it, would be a low blow to themaster artisans that sell speeders by the bucket load.. there wouldn't be a need for them anymore.

Why would we not need bikes anymore? it would take up to much spce if people could land there ships where ever they wanted. It would be great if we could land are ships at shuttle ports as well as starports, as that would make lok easyer to land ant take off from.
