You know, I can ALMOST see the logic in no texture schemes for TIEs (despite them being privately made, privately owned ships and not government issuedjust like all the other ships and the fact that no Rebel ship in the movies was customized apart from squadron colors either) but what on earth is the reason for not coloring decimators?

I'm tired of seeing big ugly slabs of grey while novas and yts totter around with nice paintjobs. We Imps don't even get an insignia to place onours! Come on!

I want to pretty up decimators, now!

every imp craft is unpaintable and never show their customizations except for the laser effects

maybe if you joined the rebelion . . . . ?

I see no problem with being able to colour two things on any imperial ship.

a stripe and an imperial logo.

Imperial squadrons had differing colours too.

Then again maybethey could have more..

EX: DECIMATOR

1: stripe and imp logos.

2: different stripes.

3: imp logos, and teeth painted on the front edges of the "wings".

4: stripes and a VT-49 painted in big letters.

5: DIE REBEL SCUM written on the side and stripes.

if many current day militaries let their men do such things to their aircraft (look at the vietnam era hueys) I dont see why the empire would enforce such so stricly, being that they may not be able to make sure EVERY LAST imperial fighter is boring looking. Plus, Decimator capitans are given their ships and they are in command of them.

"I ORDER YOU TO WRITE VT-49 ON THE SIDE, AND WHERE ARE THE SPINNERS?"

You are in the Imperial Navy! Defacement of fleet property is a court marshall offence

Not that I want to paint my TIE line of ships, but if that's the reason, why are the Rebels allowed tocustomize the paint and texture on their ships?Don'tthey belong to theRebel Alliance Navy? Fleet property huh? I bought my own ships and paid my repair cost, the Imperial Navy did absolutely nothing, well, other than issuing me a starter ship at the beginning. That starter ship isthe onlyfleet property.

The US values freedom and independance too, but how come I don't see any US Navy aviator customizing the F/A-18 E Super Hornet their flying?

If nothing else, Imperials could be given an option to give their ship a color scheme suited to their squadron, if they desire.

I mean, Baron Fel's 181st Elite Squadron had a red stripe on their fighters to signify that they were members of the 181st.

It shouldn't be too hard for the devs to come up with a basic scheme for each Imperial squadron, and give their pilots the option to use said scheme on their ship. It may be a single colored stripe on each side of their fighter, or nothing more than a colored Imperial emblem, but it'd be better than nothing, and it would fit within the realms of continuity.

***Eclipse - Ryushidosha, freelancer; Scaley Master Carbineer, ranger, merc for hire, and general sociopath...that despises the NGE.
***StarSider - Ja'ahn Woo [PYRO] of the Alliance - The Galaxy's first Jawa commando/carbineer...who also hates the NGE.

I don't want to paint my TIE bright green or something silly like that, but I think a small coloured stripe and an emblem would make ships feel a lot more personalised, and wouldn't really break Star Wars canon.

"Imperial" and "personalized" in the same sentence breaks Star Wars canon.

I never heard Vader say to a stormtrooper, "Heya, Ed. Another hard day at work, eh?"

Newsflash: Squadron colors and insignia are a way to bolster regulation and conformity. Elite TIE Squadrons can and do have these, so do elite Stormtrooper divisions already in the game. But Decimators are another thing entirely, they're an object of prestige given to ace pilots. So why can't we paint them? And don't give Star Destroyers as any sort of example, NOBODY paints capital ships.

And I'll say again, the Alliance Navy has just as much regulation as the Imperial Navy. It is just rag tag by nature. However, no Alliance ship deviated from it's squadron colors, nobody personalized a damn thing. Personalized Rebel ships violate canon just as much as personalized Imp ships would.

You need pictures for proof.

Bottom line, the empire is a totalitarian fascist organization. If its not in uniform and within SW canon, you don't get it. Go polish your jackboots and deal with it.

This, in the same game that Rebels get B-Wings before they were invented.

In any case, IT DOESN'T MATTER what the Empire is, what matters is that whether or not the Alliance is free, the MOVIE Alliance did NOT let it's pilots paint whatever the hell they wanted onto their ships. So if the Alliance can here, then so can the Empire. And the Empire being totalitarian or whatever sure hasn't negated the appearance of Stormtroopers with go faster stripes now, has it.

Rebels can't paint whatever the hell they want on their ships. They only have 6 designs to choose from.
