Thread: mining question

Known bug, no ETA on a fix. I think it's not getting channeled over to the UI people, as that's the actual bug. The readout for the Cargo Hold is offset too low. Think it was pub 20 that broke this, might have been 19.
But, I have noticed, from what little I can read of it, the cargo hold is no longer reading percentages. It's actually trying to display the true number of resources in it. Maybe that's what they don't want us to see, so they stuck it half off the screen.
And no, no workaround for it, other then just mine until it says you can't hold anymore.
I disagree... I am definitely seeing only two digits and a percent sign... as soon as I see a third digit I get the system message that the hold is full. (I'm using a standard 1550 starfighter hold.)
Would be really nice if they did just change it to show the actual number, or even made a seperate display showing the actual contents, IE:
Methane Asteroid: 1270
Carbonaceous Asteroid: 280
Would really help the miners out there.
On my screen i can see just enough of the digits to tell when it is at 50% and at 70%. The top of the 5 and the 7 can be decerned if you look carefully. The only way I know when it is full is when I get spammed with the "hold full" message.
This is a truly annoying bug. I can't for the life of me figure out how or why they messed this up.
Why....just cause they want to piss us off some more. As if mining isn't hard enough.
Thank's guys - at least now I know I will get a cargo hold full message at least.
I am currently useing a series 2 mining laser - 1 only - it seems to take a long time plus getting jumped by these pirates so have to break off and blast them as well - it's a cool element to the game, but this seems to take a long time - what makes this faster?? - series 3?? - i have a kimigola so mabey 2 series 3 and 1 regular weapon to fight back the pirates??
Do asteroid chunks come in know quantities - i.e every chunk is 10 items in hold ???
There is a point on all asteroids where they get too low on hitpoints. They won't produce any more chunks until you completely destroy them and a new one spawns in.
Just /examine the asteroid to make sure you are doing damage, then blow it up. A new one spawns in within a matter of seconds and you can go back to mining.
One of my pet peeves is all these people that leave asteroids empty, simply cause they think it's bugged.
This bug is if an asteroid chunk hits 8000 or -8000 on any of it's co-ordinates, it's been around since mining started.
Sometimes you can hit it just at an angle to get it, or tractor it in just the right angle to pull it off the border.
Personally I leave it and go back to the main asteroid.
