ROFL
People were whining about members of my former guild doing that six months ago. If you complete the Emperor's Retreat themepark you'll always have access to the building no matter what your faction is.

the trick to getting PVP in space is to understand how deep space works. not saying you guys don't, but maybe you or other people on your server haven't fully grasped the potential of the area.

the first thing you do when loading in the zone (aside from running any remaining lvl 4 droid programs) is fly to the opposing base and destroy it. to destroy the base efficiently you really need a high 80s speed engine and a good booster. all pilots who have mastered have these two pieces of equipment. good weapons help a ton as well. i realize the ISD may be slightly harder than the freedom station, i only tried it once as a neutral pilot and was able to get the bridge to 40% before dying in a mediocre ship, so it can't be that difficult.

you might need help to blow the base, you might not, there are plenty of other guides out there about how to destroy it, jinking on your attack runs, etc.

ok so the base is blown. pointless right? no good rewards right? well there's a few things blowing the base does.

1. it rings the deep space bell. mobs despawn and everyone in the area should immediately realize someone in the zone is saying either "get over here and PVP or get over here and form up."

2. all mobs spawn from their respective stations. resetting the zone will start a slow spawn first, but it will quickly speed up. you should not be wasting time flying around -5000,-8000,-3000 hitting gunboats, all you'll continually hear is people on your server bitching about how they can't find anyone in DS. of course they can't find you! by only hitting the spawns that come off the station you are much more likely to stay within detection range of other ships, even if they are simply loading in the zone to load droid programs or whatever.

3. there is no place in the game to get the sheer amount of faction 2 or more players can achieve than deep space. It is a constant spawn of single mobs equivelant to killing an overt player on the ground and it's shared in fullwith anyone who does a paltry 5% damage to a mob. 3 people attacking a gunboat spawn will get almost 600fp each. 4 people, 600 each. 5 people 600 each. actually you'll likely be getting that FP 3x as fast because the gunboats are going to go down in 8 seconds instead of 18. when the ground game is fully functional and has a heated GCW control of deep space will be critical. giving all players of a certain faction a single place to congregate not only means more FP for all, but better organization when it comes time to fight off opponents. not to mention being able to see how other people fly and learn from them.

a) i see a noob or two occasionally claim that blowing the station prevents them from getting fp, or some other rediculousness. the fact of the matter is that no one person, or no two people are likely to be able to wax the spawns off a base quickly enough to prevent anyone from joining in and getting fp. the reality is that 10 or 12 guys milking the base can actually get substantially more FP even if they aren't all in the same group. yes, the odd men out or the people without the high damage guns will get less loot this way. that is a fact of life and you are not going to avoid it in SWG, there are plenty of other places to play and likely you'll be able to do just fine hitting the spawns off the base that get away from the blockading group.to date i have not seen 1 single efficient deep space group able to catch every spawn off the base, in time that will change but there's no reason to be concerned with people ruling the zone at this time.

4. resetting the zone also eliminates the lag which can get fairly rediculous on slower machines when deep space is packed with a day full of uncontested spawns.

if i were you, i'd start making your blockade teams now and practicing strategies because if not you will be left far behind when it matters. also, there's really no good reason that i can think of to spend your time in another zone. 1. you won't get as much prestige. 2. you won't get as much loot 3. you won't get as much FP 4. you wont get as much PVP. 5. your stuff will decay if you die

again, many of you probably already know this and are frustrated with the zone anyway, but i'm still contending it's a pivotal area and will continue to be and more and more people should have their focus be on spending their space time there, instead of zone hopping looking for overts. there's not really a night that goes by now without catching someone in DS now that i make it my focus to blockade the freedom station.

plus, getting 3 guys together and disabling vettes less than 1km from the base is just fun. don't destroy them just disable then fly 2km away and admire your handywork, it's a pretty picture when you get 9 or 10 stacked up around the base.

joking aside though, the one man show isn't very fun. you get one or two people working at the base spawns and you won't get lost as much or separated from your group, and the team atmosphere is really where space shines. pvp or no, i always have fun when i'm working with someone else on catching all the spawns off it. maybe that's just me.

If i sound like im smack talking now, its because im disgusted with some of the effects of the latest patch. (For example, you catch the post with screenshots of rebels inside the emporers retreat?!) Ive only recently started bad talking rebels, but so far ive confined it to a couple threads on the forums. I generally don't get in shouting matches in game, its retarded.

That said, without exaggeration i have gone into space, seriously pissed at the game looking to vent my anger, only to find no outlet. Which only makes me even more angry. So the boards become that outlet. Maybe i spend too much time on these boards and have become cynical as well. I probably just need to take a break from the game.

Im old but not that old and i Saw you in theed cantina. But thats not the Issue. Maybe you do need to take a break. And yes the Imp Theme park has always been camped. Also They made some changes to the ground portion to the game. Im still Flyin but im also doin ground more thanI fly.

Why you ask. Its New Freash and frankly A little fun. So ill enjoyit a bit more then go Back to Flyin. Maybe you should try it. Or all you want is to Fly and Grind FP?? Remeber its a game. to get upset over how others play thats within the rules. Id say Yeah take a Break its not worth it.

Well, i was in theed cantina last night.. or was it this morning.. i forget. Got smoked, and having BF as a shipwright isnt a cool thing.
But no i dont spend all my time flying, being the guild SW ensures that.

But like i said, i think i know when you saw me cause i remember seeing your wifes character there at the time. That was about a week ago. Whats the crime in going into a cantna to lose BF anyway? If there's a point in seeing me in one, i seem to have missed it.
