Your friend can simply take over payments on your account. All you need to do is change the billing information and give him the screenname and password on your account. After that it's his account, since he's paying for it.

you could also try calling SOE and asking if you can use the same copy but purchase a new liscence from them. microsoft used to let home users (may still do) purchase more liscences for windows so you could install it on multiple machines with only one copy of the software.
