There would be nothing cooler than having a massive city-in-space type deal on, say, a Rebel command ship or a Star Destroyer. Maybe Vettes could be for ace pilots or whomever (complementing a small crew) and only the huge capitol ships (SDs or Reb command ships) could be reserved for the guild captains or master politicians. The true capitol shipscould havea cantina hall, medical bay, cloning facility, ship garage.. Everything a town has. What if, whenyou died in space, you'd respawn inan allied cap ship and be able to repair your ship there (via repair kits or an on-board npc)?
I do support their constant overt status but they would *have* to have very formidable defences. In space-pvp even the most advanced, elite fighter will go down in 2-3 well placed hits since damage isnt watered down any. The repair cost for a cap ship would literally be astronomical unless they had heart-stopping defences that could protect them against the enemyplayer ships. Or, even better, perhaps the schematics could be bought with a mountain of faction points! That could be another way to help prevent everyone from getting their hands on one...

well maybe the ships could be used for large voyages where faction players can request to dock on any of locations of the cap ships path . these missions could be on every week lets say friday and they could rise against other ships or maybe we could get an ability called "ship sharing" where a guild owns its own flagship. any member can use it but there must be a minimum occupancy to launch and this could be armed and maybe if you are overt while in space imperials or rebels (depending on faction ) sneak into your guilds shipand attack you and duel or sabotage your ship
