When I saw stratics post those as Playable craft I about laughed my *edit* off...
I like stratics for a lot of reasons.. but for the most part their JTL stuff is just mostly rumors..
For the most part we can suspect the following as confirmed ships..
Rebel
all Wing Series of Craft be they X,Y,A,B...
Imperial
All TIE Series up to the TIE Adv. x1 (TIE,Interceptor,Bomber)
All TIE Series up to the TIE Adv. x1 (TIE,Interceptor,Bomber)
Neutral
Z-95 and the Hutt fighter... are the only confirmed Neutral Like ships to date...
Transports
YT-1300 Light Freighter
PLY-3000 Personal Luxury Yacht...
Until The devs say other wise I would would just consider those ships justconcept art work and move on...
Though I would like to see the Weapon of War and Fighter Study as ships for Neutrals,
I highly doubt they will show up too soon...

Yeah the Defender prototypes didn't roll out until after the Massacre of Hoth

Very nice, but just one cavet. The TIE/Adv in the screenshot is the full model that entered service after Hoth. The one in JTL is the TIE/Adv x1, which is the type Vader flew at the first Death Star. The daggers on the wings give it away (x1 doesn't have them). The x1 is slower, is less sheilded, and only has two lasers.
I doubt we'll see the TIE/Def for at least a while, and even then I imagine it will be a special schematic like the AV-21. That is one nasty fighter.

not only that, but wasn't the B-wing and quite possibly the A-wing as well not in service until after hoth?

A couple things: Z-95 will be neutral, The TIE Defender is a very low possibilty(It wouldn't make sense, it would break continuity and would unbalance the list)
There's a better list on a website somewhere.
Since when has breaking continuity stopped the Devs before? (Think mass jedi running around during a Purge!)

Ok, The A-Wing was around in the Battle of Endor, so that's Ep. VI....
The B-Wing also made its appearance at the Battle of Endor...
