Regardless of whether this is true or not, taking away something that players already have (i.e. Jedi) would be a great way to get people to cancel their accounts. SOE may have violated continuity in a number of ways, but we have to keep in mind they only do so in response to the wishes of the players. Remember that a large slew of people voted that they wanted Jedi in the game way before the fact. Even if Lucasarts did take over and really crack down on continuity they would still have to listen to players if they hope to keep the game viable.

To Jedi and melee proffesions. This will piss off a lot of people but make the Star Wars fans really happy. In no circumstances should a stick be able to beat down someone with a blaster before the guy can even get off a shot. In no way should there be this many Jedi.

it is a rumor. Nothing more. Until either company releases any info regarding this, it will still be a rumor. And the LA job posting really means nothing... they are replacing a current LA employee by hiring another.
Frankly, i would be scared if LA took over. They have no experience in the MMORPG market other than this game and if they do go for continuity... well, all the jedi will be deleted.

ewww... yeh, all of Lucas' boards are crap. Lithium isn't that great, but Lucas brings out the worst in it.

Thats the problem with this game though, everything is concentrated on Jedi. Jedi to everyone is the end game. Once you get a Jedi, then your a uber l33t machine. Thats what's wrong with this game. They should slowly steer away from Jedi and add more things to the game that concentrate on other things, like content. That would be a big change.

But I can't see Lucasarts doing that. For one, they won't take jedi out of the game, its there and removing it will alienate all the jedi and they will all quit. Sure its a victory for star wars, but Lucas is more interested in the pocketbook than the fans. And there are only a handful of games that LA has put out that are content-driven. (i will so eat my words if they get the guys who did KOTOR on this game)
