Thread: RAGE OF THE COPOUT!

Here's the good part, heheh:
If they indeed have better stats, then those must be some wonderful fins!
IMHO, if they really wanted to have improved versions of these lower tier craft, why don't they just adjust the stats for the standard ones?
We don't need fins! These lower cert craft are already in the game. There are tons of people that would like to fly these lower tier craft as Masters/Aces but it is a complete waste as it stands right now.
Tweak these lower craft and I would love to fly in a REAL TIE throughout my pilot's career.

*confused*
Oh, I get it. You'll complain no matter what they do.
Actually, I'm surprised you're still playing this game at this point.

The thing is, they're probably not going to make the exact same ships just with fins and a higher mass, they're going to handle differently - probably worse. Otherwise they just wouldn't be balanced. When they upped the mass of the Freelancer ships, they did it in order to balance the game.
Also, as other people have stated, there are going to be other ships in the expansion. Personally, I prefer that they're modifying existing ships and adding new ships. It takes a lot of time to model and code for a whole new ship, whereas modified versions of existing ships have much the same result - giving the player more options.

Not all additions to SWG have been for the better. Holocrons? That's just for starters. You've been around in this game longer than I have, and you should know better than I do that this fact is true.

SWG dev team never let timeline details stop them before *cough* jedi. It would be nice if they did though. They can use this latest expansion to put swg in to the time frame episode 3 belongs to and take swg forward with events etc from there. But the online game has to go it's own way from the movie time line to some degree or things can get very dull.
SOE PEOPLE:
"OH CRAP! We spent all our time and resources on a boring tree world
and forgot to add any space conent!"
LUCAS THE HUTT (sitting on his dais):
"MRRRPPHMMPH. ADD FINS." (eats some raw sushi)
/sigh. SWG. What's happened to you.

and for the record I knew I would get flak for mentioning the E-wing. Well aware it doesnt exist till the Dark Empire timeline.
We know that the E-wing entered standard production during the time of Dark Empire, however we have no idea when development of it actually began. Considering how long some military projects can take, its not inconcievable to think that the E-wing might have been in the early stages of development during the time of the original trilogy, and that early prototype versions might have been available to a select few elite rebel pilots. If the devs ever do decide to introduce the E-wing, this would be an explination that wouldn't contradict already established EU.
As for people complaining about the new "modified" ships, keep in mind that the amount of work it takes to add ships like that is obviously a lot less time than it would take to add a completely new ship. The devs only have a finite amount of time to work on any project. Replacing the "modified" ship withcompletely original ships would have meant that some other area of the expansion would have been given less effort. My guess is that the devs sat down and said, "We can either put in 5 all new ships, and that's it, or we can put in 4 all new ships and use the time we would have spent on the 5th ship to instead put in a bunch of enhanced versions of older ships." If that's how things went down, then personally I think it was a fair trade off.
