ya ill take ISD instead of a shield Tie i mean it would be more realistic?
lets see each Imperial get ISD thats Tier6 with like 70guns and 30missile launchers at Ace which will come with:
20 Tier1 tie fighters
15 Tier 2 Tie Interceptors
10 Tier 3Tie Advances
10 Tier 4Tie Aggressors
5 Tier 5 Tie Opressors
and 3 tier 5 Multi Cruise Ships
also 1 tier 5 Lambda(sp?) shuttle for us to go out in luxury
Also will get 200 lvl40 StormTroopers and 50 lvl60 Dark Troopers we can command.
Yes thats it, SoE comon do this 
read in post somewere on forums that Empire had some 28,000 ISD well if so, im ure if every Imperial got one it make it more close to be realistic in space

you guys are completely missing the point.
the point was imps cant have a weapon laser, a mining laser and a tractor beam all in the ship at once.
hence... imperials get NO ships suited for solo space mining.
yet everyone else does.
you cant solo space mine in a Y-8, you need at least 3 people.
a solution would be to add a solo mining ship with 3 gun slots.
hell make 2 of the gun slots ONLY capeable of having mining lasers or tractor beams.
EDIT:
even better idea... put those 3 gun slots on (with the 2 mining only slots and 1 weapon slot) on the damned luxury yacht. give us a use for the stupid thing.

thats exactly what you need, an invinsible ship that can not only mine without fear of taking damage, but actualy mount a gun and blow up hostiles!
i personaly would like to see the mp ships get 2 guns per turret, then just go out with a friend or hire a mining laster operator, im sure theres lots of noobs now looking for cash.

dude imps rule in space TIES are much stronger, and we can all get a Jedistarfighter that roxor in deepspace. with my loadout i could take out a large squad in seconds for some reason its much easyer when your only 8ft long 6ft wide

ok your wrong there you can solo with it , and i have done much of this today
you jst don't equip a tractor beam as its bugged with the Y-8 just load up a nice mining laser and your ready

OK... Imps are not disadvantaged simply because [except for kessel] there ISNT ANY PIRATES THAT CAN BUST THROUGH A DECENT SHIELD...
Sorry for shouting but the "pirate threat" is so low as to be laughable .. when they attack they only problems they cause is extra "lag". I ignore them takes to long to kill them when i am busy mining.
Edit: Of course if your at T3 or lower i see your point... sorry 
[space mining sould be available to everyone ... the Y-8 should NOT be Master Pilot only]

i thin some one else said this but just dont use the tractor beam its rly pointless i solo with my krayt with 1 deff blaster and 2 mining if taht i just use class III mining weapons and i just be carefull no to get into threats with pirates ur ly dont need a deff blaster to hlp u out. so imps wiht 2 gun slots just dont use a deff weapon or a tractor beam just use 2 class 3 mining lasers they take up hardly any mass so u can suit ur ship up with programs to make them do twice the damage if u need to defend urself...and schadwood is pretty much right teh pirates or a waste of time there to weak and if they do brake through or do some good damage to ur sheilds just do taht capacitor-sheild shunt thing fixes everything.

I thought the point of the tractor beam was that you could pull in larger chunks for higher yields vs having to blow them apart smaller and get less? Definitely seems to be the case in my experience. I have my Krayt outfitted for mining and fill up the cargo bay in record time using my tractor beam. That said, I see the original poster's point. Mining would suck without the third slot for an actual weapon. Killing the tier 5s in Kessel would take forever. A cross certed mining ship would be a good idea. Give it 3 mounts and make it a requirement that one is used for a tractor beam and another for a mining laser (or 2 mounts with an integrated tractor beam). Give the cert for it after completing the mining questjust like the Y-8, just make it crafted instead of a reward so the shipwrights get something.

the X-wing may have 3 weapon points but one of them is useless.
you dont have enough mass on a standard x-wing to be able to equip minning laser,tractor beam and a good enough protection weapon.not unless you want rid of the boosters, but also remeber that a good minning laser can be used as a combat weapon.

In terms of space mining, the claim that "Imperials get the shaft" I don't buy it.
I use a TIE Bomber for my mining vessel. I arn it up with the Class2 Mining Laser and a Tractor Beam, additionally I added 2 concussion 3 launchers slapped in the Large Cargo Bay and viola!
Ok fine, we don't have any 3 weapon ships, but you don't need it. Go mining, then have a shipwright build you better mining gear. Use your standard droid programs and you can handle most anything up to tier 5. I'm able to fill my hold in about 45 minutes max.

Wait, you're saying that using a tractor beam, you were able to blow a peice off the main asteroid and then pull it in without firing another shot? I didn't think that was possible. I thought it was mandatory that you blow themedium chunk into small ones.
Clarification? Anyone?

Still had to blow it up one more time after it comes off the main asteroid, but then you can tractor those chunks in instead of shooting them again. From what I have seen, it results in you getting more resources per chunk. As a result it takes less time to mine versus blowing them up and getting less per chunk.
