New Question for the devs:


Dear Dev's:


I have been reading a lot about the Jump to Light Speed beta testing and all. So far it seems that you are only trying to open it to Veterans on Test Center. But I was wondering. Will regular people who don't play on test server be able to sign up for the JTL Beta. If so when will this happen?? Because personally I really would like to try to do JTL beta and all but I don't usually play on TestCenter.I really hope you can respond to my question. Thank you.

191. How many side-effects are ships going to have? Things such as engine glare and sensor blind spots?

192. How many tactics - ie, small-scale strategies similar to kiting on the ground - will we be able to develop in space?

As of this week, the answer is now "neither". Very shortly, the JTL Professions portion of the web site will be changed. The design crew has changed the functionality a bit. If you heard the E3 buzz, you might recall us saying, "The Pilot professions will be content oriented, but the Shipwright will be skill point based to balance it with the ground game". Since then, we've changed the profession a bit.


As a result, the web site article on professions will be changing from:

So it's an elite profession (we already gathered that). But we are still wondering if it's an Engineering offshoot or Master Artisan offshoot. I can't really think what other starting profession would lead to it...Brawler? Heh.
