Thread: Is it just me?
It is related to the problem with any action that confuses states. For example, catching a shuttle, you usually have to try twice to board (it takes a second to realize you have stopped running).
The prone issue is the same problem. You need to stop, wait a second or two, kneel, then prone. It should stop the warping. If you hit prone from running you will almost always warp.
Or did they increase Ham costs and Regenration rates.
Used Conceal shot to kill a snorbal and nearly incapped myself, then when I was resting my ham was regenerating super fast.
I have noticed a larger HAM cost for many shots. Haven't noticed any regen bonuses, though.
I haven't played since the big bonus, however.
you given up domestic arts skills?
auk's use artisan exp points and domestic arts have those stats on them as well...
im guessing you gave up domestic artts 3/4 ?
Go figure !
You are 100% correct
I didnt realize that this would be the result! afterall I'm a mastersmith now
Thanks
It's been like that for a bit, It has not always been like that. I'm not entirely sure if that was intentional or a bug. I'm assuming a bug, but it's probably on the bottom of their bug list now.
My observations thus far:

Hey folks,
I'll introduce this with saying initially that I'm a total newbie at this particular game. Been playing about 7 days now. I have however played many MMPORG's since the initial MUDS ranging from UO, DAOC and AO. I've played just about every profession in both daoc and AO, including level 200+ fixers, agents and keepers. This isn't any kind of bragging just to give you an idea where I'm coming from - Informed in MMO's in general, but a newb at SWG.
So to begin... well firstly I took the basic weapon that looked interesting and grabbed a pistol. I cashfarmed with missions and upgraded my weapon a few times on the way.
My observations thus far:
1) Pistol damage is embaressingly poor in pvp. Why is it that the only pvp damage I seem to do is with my AT-ST?
2) Nothing is targetable really. I see a few specials in other lines which attack specific HAM bars, yet with pistoleer it seems like it's pretty much random. Even the dedicated line shots are not in the slightest effective because they hit health.. which err anyone with Novice medic can heal!
3) DX2 is a joke. When I made pistoleer I was really pleased. "Cool!" I thought to myself. Time to drop my sliced FWG5 and grab a DX2. I run to my buddy Cix who makes me a top of the line masterpiece dx2... and it's hilariously crap. Worse than a scout blaster by far ! After 3 missions, I run back to Cix and get him make me five FWG5's which I then get sliced because frankly I can see myself using these for quite some time to come.
4) Evades... do this wierd thing.. when i'm running away, it's like the animation stops me if i dodge a hit. Maybe this is a bug? Maybe it's me.. I don't know. Just seems like as I run I do an odd sidestep.. and then endup facing the wrong direction. Let me make this clear.. if i'm running away and I dodge i do NOT want to suddenly be stopped. I should be rolling in the dirt behind a rock and then up and away again !
5) On the subject of dodging and damage in general actually... why am I doing like double PvM damage when I am kneeling compared to when i'm stood up? Is this a gameplay issue I'm missing?
6) I was going to take the pistoleer/creature handler route... but frankly I'm so sick of being everybodies lunch in pvp - even newbie pvp... that I dropped CH altogether and am taking doc. Possibly CM - i'll decide when I master medic. Is pistoleer/doc or pistoleer/CM a good combination or am i just wasting further time?
Thanks in advance for your responses.
Awam.
HeHe! Welcome to SWG.......
consider yourself with just a little introduction to the problems in the game.....there are more in every profession........well, some of them aren't technically problems but rather unorthordoxed.....and takes some getting used to.
as far as staying with those fwg's throughout the game.....I'm sorry to say but you will need some other weapons sooner or later......don't know if you've been to dath yet....there are plenty of creatures and npc's that a fwg just won't scratch much at all.....Force sensitives on dantooine have 80% resist to heat also. some things have 100% resist to heat and other types of attacks and you will need to use a dx2, Republic blaster or some other type of attack or get your butt handed to you...
Remember also, that we are going through some combat changes which will include changes in the weapons too....the dx2 is supposed to have more accuracy now....but I have yet to check that out.
Also, dx2's are more effective vs armored targets that have less than 40% acid resist or no resist at all. most mobs in the game are vulnerable to acid (at least a lot more than there are vulnerable to heat). So when you run into a mob that has 60% resist to heat and light armor but no resist to acid.....guess which weapon is better.....the dx2.
Just remember that pistoleers need a arsenal of weapons to maximize their effectivness.
As far as pvp, there's suppose to be a new pistol that does stun damage.....this is great because 90% of pvp'ers wear 80%composite armor but very very rarely will you see them wearing 80% composite with stun protection.....usually stun is a vulnerablitiy in composite.
Recurring theme I've seen today.... everyone thinking us getting a "stun" pistol is "new".
Tangle Pistol is a "stun" pistol and has been in the game since day one.
True enough we are getting a new pistol and it does stun damage... but the fact that we as pistoleers have access to something that does stun damage is nothing new.
To respond to the poster:
Pistoleer/Doc only stretches out the inevitable your death.
Pistooleer/CM is cool.....
but
Rifleman/CM is better.
The "secret" to using the DX2 is to first find something where ACID damage is your only real option. And then to get real close range 20m or less.
hope that answers some questions.
