I had a bomber that was a slug until I put a better engine in it. It wasn't even close to the maneuverability of the Interceptor. (but then again NOTHING can compare to the INT in maneuverability)
1) I mapped my F8 key to /throttle .5 so I can throttle down and turn easier.
Nice... i been flying my bomber to kessel now just to get tehh hang of it... takes a while to adjust to it's turn rate though... oh how do you map that /throttle .5 to a key? Im wondering what is the best missleloadout if im to face gunboats and the vette.
I made a macro that contains "/throttle .5" and I dragged the icon to the toolbar in the F8 key slot. The cool thing is when you hit the key it actually gives you a response.
In your chat window it looks something like:
[debug] throttle 0.05
I'm actually thinking of using the macro to "pause 2" (time to turn around) then "/throttle 1" to put the pedal to the metal again. So if I executed my turn right, I'd be on their tail and the macro would hit the gas for me. the only problem I see with that is if I mess up on the roll and turn, or if I execute the macro at the wrong time.
But I've noticed that I hit the throttle automatically when coming out of my turns out of habit now. I get plenty of shots on those interceptors as they're slowly pulling away after a joust run.
Also another concern is every ship has a different accel/deceleration rate. With my Rihk it is quick, same with Xwing, but on a bomber it is slow to react to speed changes.

It seems to me that the bomber type ships like Kimo's and Tie Bombers were never really meant for dogfighting. There purpose is to nuke capital size ships (lets hope they add more in the future).A bomber isnot really the solo rogue pilots ideal craft,.
It is the ideal craft for an organizedguild IMO, it needs fighter escort to its target. It wasn't meant to be an agile fastfighter and will not last long alone. Bombers arefor multi role battles is whatseems to be.

Bombers arefor multi role battles is whatseems to be.You cannot put the Kimo any where near the TIE bomber, they are nothing like one another. My Privateer pilot used the Kimo as a fighter up untill I could use my Ixyen (? the tier 3 black sun fighter), and even then I switched back to it for the tougher missions. The Kimo is not a bomber, it's a heavy fighter. While the TIE bomber might be nice with lv 9/10 gear and a 98 speed engine, it is ONLY a slow death-trap bomber untill you have such equipment.I frankly don't understand where anyone comes off arguing that the Kimo is slow, or needs more mass... It is three times as fast and manuverable as a TIE bomber. And even has more firepower than the TIE.
But the Kimo is really pretty useless if you have a Dunelizard, if you're considering the mass/maneuverability for each ship. And even the Ixyen is not worth getting. You can use the Dunelizard at Level 1 and can move to the Rihk at level 4. the other ships aren't worth bothering over unless you go for looks more than functionality. Flying a Rihk is like looking down the hood of a 71 Cadillac Eldorado.
