What is the exact purpose of the Tie bomber in JTL exactly, without atmospheric flight there really isnt anything to bomb is there? You'd be better off with a plain old tie fighter with better maneuvering and speed than a bulkier and slower tie bomber.

maybe theres a limited amount of torpedos you can fire per run..with the tie bomber having the highest weapon capacity.../shrug

They can also hold a ton of torpedos compared to other ships.. I would expect (and hope) that torpedos will be an expendable resouces that you have to purchase to resupply.. making a TIE bomber a deadly force if its loaded up.

There wasn't any atmosphere in the asteroid field, either. And yet we see TIE Bombers doing what they do best to try to flush the Falcon out of hiding.

TIE Bombers are used several times in Space, such as,the bombing of the asteroids in ESB,they are used numerous times to bomb large and slow rebel frigates also. They have missiles that lock on,so those could be used in space for blowing up large slow ships.

TIE Bombers quickly become invaluable when you are assaulting an enemy capitol ship. Nothing can quite dish out the damage to large, slow moving targets like a bomber can.

HOw many of you actually fly this with effeciency? What are your loadouts and your tactics? How do you dogfight in one of these if it's even possible... what do you do when fighters attack you and you cant turn fast enogh to face them?

It seems to me that the bomber type ships like Kimo's and Tie Bombers were never really meant for dogfighting. There purpose is to nuke capital size ships (lets hope they add more in the future).A bomber isnot really the solo rogue pilots ideal craft,.

It is the ideal craft for an organizedguild IMO, it needs fighter escort to its target. It wasn't meant to be an agile fastfighter and will not last long alone. Bombers arefor multi role battles is whatseems to be.

I love my bomber. I dogfight with it and more. All you gotta do is get the best engine possible. I have a 98.9 in mine. Addto it all the flight computer stuff and its a speedy little machine. A tank that can go as fast as an interceptor.

My loadouts: 1 Concussion launcher and 1 Proton launcher. 2 Blasters 2100-3100 damage and .61 vs. shields and armor.

I had a bomber that was a slug until I put a better engine in it. It wasn't even close to the maneuverability of the Interceptor. (but then again NOTHING can compare to the INT in maneuverability)

1) I mapped my F8 key to /throttle .5 so I can throttle down and turn easier.

2) Use your roll when turning, it makes a BIG difference. Never turn directly up/down/left/right. Always roll to turn using the NE/SE/SW/NW directions because those directions are staggeringly faster than the N/S/E/W "hard" directions.

3) Anticipate the turn and turn early during that "head-on" run.

4) Accelerate when coming out of the turn and if you are close enough to their tail they won't do the "back and forth" trip on you. (thats how you break THAT spell)

I dont know whats up with thet TIE bomber, i've piloted the other bomber classes and they are way the freak better than the TIE, no matter what i was piloting like, the TIE bomber was sucky. It was turning horrible, couldnt find the "sweet spot" for the life of me, or i couldnt tell the differance. I loved the y-wing and riherxz(i hate those black sun names). IMO the TIE bomber just sucks, not worth the mass
