Hrm...here's a thought one 'dude' took out the deathstar. Kinda ironic ain't it?

He was also in a squadron with those "dudes" before he made his run. There were at least 6 or 7 other "dudes" that I can remember.

Also, another "dude" and his "dude" co-pilot made sure that the evil "dude" didn't interfere.

Oh give me a break. Annakin was eight years old and have never flown a bloody spaceship before when he blew up the TF Mothership. 'Dude'.

That also happened in Ep1 which is the biggest pile of dog poop that Lucas dreamt up. Geez it has Jar Jar for crying out loud.

As for Luke destroying the Death Star solo... Har! He had multiple squadrons dealing with the other TIEs, he had people try to do what hewas about to and failed, he had his butt saved by Han just before biting the big one, he had two wingmen enter the trench alongside him who acted as cannon fodder, delaying the attack on himself, he had a voice in his head and the force by his side helping him along.

It you want to compare yourself to someone then forget Luke or Anakin and think Wedge. There was another non-force-imbued pilot who was used as a template for clones but i forget his name, he was supposed to be really good too. But even they were not your average pilot, they were someone you could stirve to emulate but could not expect to copy their achievements. You're Biggs.

And no, i certainly don't think Jedi should get special powers in space. They have enough advantages on the ground.

Besides, Darth (Anakin)(with two wingmen)could not even finish off Luke in the Death Star trench before Han shot him up.

I see you never counted them. Right?

There where only 30 - fighters, not squadrons - at all, not more.....

Okay, i used the wrong word in there. There was a red leader, a blue leader, purple, pink, orange, puce... I was considering those squadrons.

But either way it doesn't matter. It's still not solo and that was my point (or one of them).

I think the best solution for this would be:

Make the missions like the missions at the ground: Easyer if one player uses them, harder if a group uses them, so both will be satisfied. (Maybe if you made them hard you get some bonus - more xp, or an uniqe piece of whatever....)

Or maybe they only repair the missions? That would be a beginning at all:

Privateer Tier 3, Mission 4: Your allies hang motionless in space....that can not be intended......

Now that I only have about 1 hour a day to play SWG I find the current JTL missions impossible to complete.

In the old days when I had 2-4 hours to play each day there wouldn't be a problem - it would be feasible for me to get a group together and complete the multi-part missions.

However, the grouping requirement is not suited to the casual gamer as it takes too long to:

- spend 10 minutes travelling from mission giver to spaceport (Imp Inquisition: Moenia Spaceport / Emperor’s Retreat)

then . . .

- find 3-4 other players/guildies willing to help for an hour (these missions are not soloable - I have played flight sims for the past 10 years, and noone I know ingame has solo'd these missions)

then . . .

- complete the multi-stage missions that can take 1-1.5 hours

DEVS, can you please re-evaluate the difficulty of the current mission system as they are not suitable to the casual gamer.

- I would rather complete 100 small missions (difficult but soloable) and least feel like Im progressing towards the goal.

Thanks, tylastar

why should they change the game to meet your needs, most mmorpg's arnt for casual gamers anyways. WoW seems to be setup so casual gamers can still compete but thats the only one i know of. and FYI... the entire pilot profession is soloable, you do not need to group. i did the entire thing (including the vette) SOLO. you just have to learn how to do it. its nowhere near impossible and its actually very easy if you use strategy.

That would be one way but then you would have a similar situation like you have on the ground, where people are forced to group just to get a solo challenge. A solo group, which is being nerfed for the ground, but which you will still need to provide you with a solo challenge (if you can call Mokks/Janta a challenge that is).

I don't think the ground missions are a very good template to design space missions around.

I do like the idea of saving each stage of a mission individually though, seems a valid compromise IMO.

Why don't they just add a /AutoCompleteMission command?

I would just put in a /MakeMeMaster <profession> command. More general , so everyone benefits.

I agree with the original poster. You should be able to level up using one of these ways:

Longer and easier: 100 easy duty missions = 50 hours piloting (boring )

Faster and harder: 4-5 non soloable missions = 6 hours (*5 people = 30)

This way anyone would be able to reach higher levels without sacrifing real life compromises.

Seems fair to me.

Ok - what's your strategy? Boy, am i looking forward to finding these missions 'very easy' like you. Can't wait.

That's certainly radical. Iwas just thinking that oinstead of being swamped by eight squadrons of five superior tier fighters if you are soloing, you get swamped by eight squads of three.

I am a 4 3 3 3 Rebel Pilot and I have yet to have a huge amount of mission problems.

I soloed a few tier 3's and only needed 1 or 2 other guild members to help me through on some of them.

I did my first tier 4 with one other X-Wing and a noobish Y-Wing (he really didn't contribute much.)

Don't try and move forward too fast, your components and chassis need to be balanced. ie. I moved too quickly into my A-Wing and had to drop back to my X-Wing cause I didn't have good enough and light enough parts for my A-Wing yet.

It can be done, but you're not gonna do it in your starter ship.

You want a game you can beat in 20 hours and then watch it collect dust?

Go buy Doom 3

JTLS is an exceptional value given the hours of rewarding playtime you get.
