I am a 4 3 3 3 Rebel Pilot and I have yet to have a huge amount of mission problems.

I soloed a few tier 3's and only needed 1 or 2 other guild members to help me through on some of them.

I did my first tier 4 with one other X-Wing and a noobish Y-Wing (he really didn't contribute much.)

Don't try and move forward too fast, your components and chassis need to be balanced. ie. I moved too quickly into my A-Wing and had to drop back to my X-Wing cause I didn't have good enough and light enough parts for my A-Wing yet.

It can be done, but you're not gonna do it in your starter ship.

You want a game you can beat in 20 hours and then watch it collect dust?

Go buy Doom 3

JTLS is an exceptional value given the hours of rewarding playtime you get.

Actually, feedback received from other posts on this forum suggests that some navies and squadrons are much much easier than others. The Inquisition missions, according to one guy who was an Imperial Ace and then became a Privateer, are hellishly hard - while his particular Privateer missions are a cakewalk.

Now that I only have about 1 hour a day to play SWG I find the current JTL missions impossible to complete.

In the old days when I had 2-4 hours to play each day there wouldn't be a problem - it would be feasible for me to get a group together and complete the multi-part missions.

However, the grouping requirement is not suited to the casual gamer as it takes too long to:

- spend 10 minutes travelling from mission giver to spaceport (Imp Inquisition: Moenia Spaceport / Emperor’s Retreat)

then . . .

- find 3-4 other players/guildies willing to help for an hour (these missions are not soloable - I have played flight sims for the past 10 years, and noone I know ingame has solo'd these missions)

then . . .

- complete the multi-stage missions that can take 1-1.5 hours

DEVS, can you please re-evaluate the difficulty of the current mission system as they are not suitable to the casual gamer.

- I would rather complete 100 small missions (difficult but soloable) and least feel like Im progressing towards the goal.

Thanks, tylastar

You're going about it all wrong. Plan further ahead. I do that on our guild forum, then, when I get home from work, after spending a little time with my wife and son, I jump on, the group's ready to go, and we wipe out the mission in 30 minutes, most of the time less than that.

I think it's well-suited for the casual gamer who thinks ahead.

***P.S. As you see in my sig, I'm a master pilot. By doing it this way, not one mission lasted over an hour.

One mission, had the first couple legs in Dant, thelast in endor. You can break off after the dant legs, log off, do the Endor leg the next day withough failing the mission.

I can confirm that. I dropped Storm Squadron, got to 3/3/2/2 as well (I think that makes me some kind of carebear?) and went Privateer. The missions I'm doing in Privateer are not so much easier as a lot shorter and a hell of a lot more fun. The point is that these shorter missions are less stressful, less frustrating and most importantly, a LOT of fun. As for being a carebear, well let me say this, I pay to play this game as a form of entertainment and I think it does that reasonably well although on occasion it is a little frustrating. I DO NOT pay to play this game to prove how tough/skilled/L337/virile/masculine/manly or any other suitably childlike reason...I pay and play to have FUN.

I spent hours on this sig...
And all I came up with is this crap!
