The ships that don't have them (Z95s, most TIEs) require larger transport ships (like Star Destroyers) to move between systems. It is too far to fly from one system to another with sub-light engines.

but i want to have that vision of traveling 30 mins just to go somewhere important

Hehe, didn't play EverQuest. But i'm the kind of person who misses the 5 minute shuttle wait... Waiting 1 minute feels unrealistic and having JTL was really an advantage before.

I'm not a big fan of the whole "instant gratification" thing. I liked it when we had to take 45 minute boat rides between continents in EverQuest. I liked that the run from one city to another was about an hour long. It made the world feel a lot bigger. I feel the same way here. I wish we all had to launch into space and fly to our destinations. I wish that things just seemed farther apart. They don't right now, and that makes me sad.

There's no vastness in space currently....feels like I'm flying around in a small box with some pretty backrounds. Also, it would nice if spacestations served more of a purpose than repair and landing thru a chat dialog. Make it so you can actually dock or land within the station and walk around in it and do repairs thru a terminal in the station. Seems more realistic than instant repair while flying by the station effect that it is now.

Yeah but the hard-grinders wouldn't like having to doing it the realistic way, to dock and repair, they'd rather just fly by the station and instant repair 800m from it

I'd be kind of bugged out if i had to dock with the station to repair, in some situations..
I believe the whole space-station thing is coming though, wait until Publish 30
