As an SA pilot, don't take the Duty mission from your tier4 trainer, get the Destroy duty from the tier4 RSF trainer in Theed palace. No TIE aggressors, just tier4-5 black suns. Shorter mission, but faster grinding, with less hazard.

If you're going to Kessel as Smuggler's Alliance and non-overt, you can hit anything you like there, and only what you attack (or Corsairs) can attack back. Easy targets are B-Wings, Y-Wings, and TIE Bombers (if you can find any of the last), plus gunboats aren't bad if they're holding steady.
