Thread: Couple Questions
SiliconX wrote:
Haven't quite started CM yet but i'm planning for it right now, so I had a couple questions:
- What are the experimental charges on the Mind poisons and Diseases? I got the charges for the Advanced Components(so I know what to look for in resources) but need to know them for the actual poisons/diseases themselves
Do you mean what qualities do you look for in resources?
If that is what you are looking for........
Experimental charges changes charges (OQ and Tough 66/33) and distance (OQ and Conductivity 66/33)
Experimental ease of use changes potency and ease of use, both using OQ/PE 66/33
Experimental effectiveness changes area (OQ/Con 66/33), Power (OQ/PE 66/33) and duration (OQ/DR 40/60)
- Class 1 Radioactive seems to be rather rare. Luckily, I've been harvesting some decent stuff for the past week. Now deciding i'd like to try CM, i'm lucky I got lots. Does harvesting it with a Fusion matter? Will it still work or does it have to be harvested with a Mineral?
Good Lord! If you have a fusion gen use it!
Thanks for your time
Thanks very much for the answers Pahd. Exactly what I was looking for.
Yeah, got two Fusions on the Class 1. I was just harvesting it because there was an 80% spot right outside my house. Then decided to try CM so kind of worked out ![]()
Can someone tell me -exactly- how to name a droid, like step by step? I'm having trouble.
Thanks. I love my droid!
Naming walkthrough (our compliments to Sketh)... this can be located in the FAQ that's located at the top of this forum... always stickied:
"Training Droids
So, you got this new droid deed. What to do?
Well first, you have to tame it from your backpack. Use the radial menu, and select tame. This will bring the droid out for the first time. After this, the droid will be stored in your data pad, not your pack.
Now, you want it to do tricks Well, here is how you teach it.
Use the radial menu to select Program.
Select the skill you want to program. The droid will respond with a ?
Type the following
/say name command
Where name is the optional name you want to give it, and command is the command you want to bind to what you are training. For example, lets say you have you have a droid that you want to name Snoopy, and you want to train it to follow. You might then select the Follow option from the programming list, then type:
Snoopy follow
Note that naming a droid is optional - you can leave out the name in all the training steps. Also, note that names and commands are case sensitive (hence, FOLLOW would not work). Also, the same name filter is on for droids, so no numbers or special characters are allowed. Fianally, human form droids (3P0's and surgicals) do not accept names at all.
When the droid accepts the training, he will respond with a !
Once you train about 5 commands, the droid will take on the name you are using to train him. Also, note that you must use the phrases to train him in public chat (don't try to give your droid a direct tell).
If you change a droid's name, make sure to retrain all the commands that had the name bound to it.
Once you have trained a command, you can use it again by saying, for example, "snoopy follow"
The most important commands to train are, group, follow, stay, befriend, patrol, set patrol point, delete patrol point. In the case of the probot, you of course want to train the attack and guard command command. Do NOT train delete... there is not point... that sets the droid free, and you will never control him again. I list group first, because if you are solo hunting, and group with your droid, you will get the exp bonus for fellows without having to share exp with the droid. So, I really think that those that don't yet have droids need one.
Note that it is worthless to train the formation skills for a droid. It appears that they intended to allow for multiple droids at one point, but no longer do so. Hence, it is hard to make one droid fall into a droid formation (see also power droids... how can a pwer droid power another droid when you can only have one out at once?)"
Now, what's this about the storage compartment being bugged?
Also, I followed that guide, now my droid has listed in COMMANDS stuff like Hatori-Hanzo stay, Hatori-Hanzo friend... etc. But his name doesn't display over his head... what am I doing wrong?
I have found that the filter for names is very strict and doesnt accept many things, try a different nam e just to see if this is the problem , something neutral like tred that shouldnt ever be blocked
We know for a fact that item storage is broken in the Surgical chassis. As far as I know, it should be working in all other chassis (PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong). SOE is aware of this bug since we've reported it over, and over, and over, and over again. Expect a fix sometime next ice age.
About the naming... I'll give you my personal tricks for getting that name over his head. First, make sure it's not a "personality" type droid: naming doesn't work on them (again, bug reported to SOE repeatedly).
Second, program at least 4 different commands. I like "Stay", "Follow", "Group", and "Get Patrol Point" since every chassis has those features.
The trick in my mind is: doing your programming quickly for each.
Radial menu > Program >stay... "/say Buddy stay."
Radial menu > Program > follow... "/say Buddy follow me."
Radial menu > Program > group... "/say Buddy group up."
Radial menu > Program > get patrol point... "/say Buddy here!"
Do those four commands, in that order, fairly quickly... if that doesn't work, repeat those same four commands again.
His name should pop up in a bubble box once it's done. ![]()
It's an R2 Unit
Stay: buddy stay
..
Get Patrol Point: buddy here
Is it supposed to look like that?
