Where can I get a space delivery mission? Or do you mean a regular ground delivery mission, but with a destination on another planet and use my ship? My starter ship does not have hyperdrive, so that won't work. Fortunately I am a veteran, so I've got the Sorosuub for that, but my friends who are starting new chars with me are not.

So far the only space missions I can find come from my trainer. I can't find any points in space to land at to get special space missions.

They advertised that making money in space was a reason to be a pilot. I expect the payouts on the higher tiers to be much better...

When I was a master in beta, I killed a transport ship and looted 10k from it. Shot down about 5 and took me about 30mins or so.

After I finished with the tier 1 missions and was being offered duty missions (as a Privateer, this consisted of escorting some freighter and fending off all attacks), and after finishing the escort, the mission reward dropped me 1600 creds. I stayed in space because it offered me to run it again right then and there, and after finishing the 2nd run it gave me 1800 creds. I forsee a pattern, and if the tier 2 duty missions are similar, and the payout bumps up, then Oooohhhh! $_$

Well, the trick I am having is getting from Tier 1 to Tier 2. I have not made anywhere NEAR enough money in tier 1 to buy a tier 2 ship. And you can't really compare it to the lower tier of the ground game, because you don't need a 25k pistol to hunt nunas or meatlumps now, do ya? And meatlumps drop more credits than enemy ships do .

So though I am done with tier 1 trianing, I figure i am just going to have to grind through more tier 1 duty missions until I can afford a tier 2 ship.

Question: Once in tier 2, can i start on the duty mission, or do I have to do the quest arc first?

I think the devs purposfully made it so that you had to do some 'ground work' so to speak in order to be successful in space. I mean, JTL is intended to expand the original game, so separating the two of them and trying to be successful in just the expansion is probably rightly difficult. That's why they made the Pilot professions cost 0 Skill Points, so that you could do both and be successful. However, I understand why you would want to do so.

Yeah, you are probably right, but it's like marrying a beautiful woman and being saddled with her witch mother-in-law

JTL is the game I wanted SWG to be in the first place. I never wanted that turned-based Star Wars Professions mess the ground game turned in to, where the GCW got reducded to scraps between gangs of thugs. I'm just disappointed I can't make a new pilot character and be self-sufficient at it.

its just like some other people have posted, just go up a couple of tiers. the pay-out should be really good.

and, if that pattern someone else mentioned was right, if you could stay up in space long enough, you could get a lot of cash. (although, the devs will probably put a cap on how much that payout can reach)
