Need some advice here. My main char has plenty of cash from the ground game, but my alt is a relatively new toon and has no money.
In beta I was able to make barely enough to possibly pay for a chassis and perhaps live off of component drops, but in live for some reason the amount of cash drops are 1/100th what they were in beta. Where I made nearly 35k in beta by the time I trained 1 1 1 1, I've only made about 6kin Live. Furthermore, the only missions I can get are from my trainer, that I know of.
So what I want to know is, how can a relatively new pilot make money in JTL? Are there other people that will give me space missions other than my trainer?
Share your tips for beinga self-sufficient pilot!

you make money on the ground. space isn't for the treasure hunters. all you get is components and credits like you get with normal NPCs on the ground.

I've sold a whole slew of components I have looted from space. At least until the shipwrights catch up, you can make money that way.

It's set up for the upcoming combat revamp which is also supposed to straighten out the economy somewhat. So the rewards are substantially less than a buff session that you'll get.

Who will buy looted components? Pilots can loot them themselves if they want to, while shipwrights have no use of them, unless they like to RE the loot and re-sell it.

Dude, beta is OVER, there ain't no blue frogs in Live. In beta I was watching how much money I earned to test just such self-sufficiency. It was there, but barely. Now it's impossible.
So the gist of what I'm getting here is that there's no way to be a self sufficient pilot character, that I've got to level a character in some sort of ground profession too in order to earn money to buy a ship? Damn, SOE should have put that on the box, I would not have bothered with JTL had I known that.

Well, perhaps you haven't looted a decent level 3 blaster, and someone else looted 4. They'll sell the extras.
Also, shipwrights will want to buy them, RE them, and sell them again. Also, to RE you need one component per RE level, so if you've got 5 level 6 engines, you may want to buy that last one instead of wait to loot one.

Good News first....JTL shipped ON TIME...In fact it was a day early in an effort to prove to Lucas
that Sony is the uber one when it comes to online gaming. We'll see if the ploy worked.
Bad news....THEY NERFED THE LOOT!!!!! No money, few component drops = more of the same
old ground grind - just what everyone wanted right????
Oh and try not to die in space cause the one thing I've noticed that has gone up....THE COST OF FIXING
YOUR SHIP.
Amazing.

BTW, in beta, you don't need to make money at all. There's thisblue frogcharacter building thingon every planet where you could get unlimitedfunds/resources and skills.

The blue frog is a statue that the devs pull out on the TCs so they can test specific things there. It allows players to basically be anything they want without grinding for it (apart from Jedi).
