Maybe NPCs, but definitely not PCs. It would be a huge grief point.

I've wondered it for a little bit and haven't actually searched for answers, but can you dock with another player's MP ship and get onboard somehow? thanks in advance for answers

Doesn't the Sorosub have a hatch or hole in one of the lowest rooms on the ship? I'm pretty sure this was meant for docking, but it was never implemented.
...or maybe it's some type ofspace toilet.

I thought the hole was the escape pod... Well, I guess it is now at least.

Actually that hole/hatch was meant for turrets. Until they made the SoroSub non-combat and non-upgradeable.

do you disable the ship first. target engines or reactor by using the [ or ] keys

in some cases disable is necessary. (most actualy) you use the [ key or the ] key to cycle through a targets subsystems. Most of the time your mission journal will say something like target the engines to disable. when you hit one of those two keys below the ships name in your target info (top left of screen) it will show a system in yellow letters.
