Do you know what i would like to see, say somone has a yacht or a YT-1300 and they want to have a party and they invite some people, i would like to have docking hatches on ships, but you need to get invited to dock and when you dock you apear on teh other persons ship after a short loading screen, or maybe some rebs and imps wanna roleplay so a bunch of tie bombers or maybe even another YT-1300 docks onto the other ship and has a ship fight like in a new hope. Feedback please.

Dude, there are 1000 threads just like this. I cant remember the name of the guy, but he had a docking proposal that was amazing. I'll get the URL in a second...

Well Im having a blast on JTL but I have two questions that I can hope yall will be able to answer for me.
I have the sorosuub(sp?) and i wanted my friend to dock his small little scyk on my sorosuub and come explore the ship. Well when i first popped into the sector he was in I went to the waypoint to where he was and neither of us could see each other which was extremly weird. Do yall know why?
So we both just landed on Talus and then grouped on the ground and then went back up into space. We could now find each other this time but we faced another problem. Whenever my friend tried to /dock with me. He got a message similar to this(i dont remeber the exact wording): "This ship does not give you permission to dock with it" We tried everythign to get his ship to dock with mine but we couldnt.
So is the sorosuub unable to dock with other ships? Or is there a way too grant permission for the player to dock with the sorrosuub? Or is there no docking at all? Why couldnt we find each other in space despite us beign at the same way point?

Go to the ship terminal(inside the ship) and give him the right to come on the ship(kinda like the terminal in a house that gives permission to certain people to enter)

Are you sure thats how u do it because I swear I tried doing that. But you are positive that people can dock onto ur ship?

If you haven't completed the first set of missions from your trainer, you spawn into a "newbie" instanced-style copy of the sector, along with others who haven't completed the first set. So that's why you couldn't see your friend.
Secondly, you can dock to some disabled NPC ships, but not to player ships. The way to get onboard a friend's ship is to be grouped on the ground, then launch the MP ship from there.

You can dock disabled freighters to steal their stuff (although I never found out what to do with it once it's in your cargo), and you can dock with mission ships to transfer data, you can't dock to come aboard something.

IDK if this has been discussed, but I really want to point out the need for docking with a yacht.
Why?
Lets say iw ant to have a meeting with people, I am in space already. I don't want to have to land, wait for them all to get to the same planet, group up, and then launch into space, they should be able to just find me in space, /dock, and be on my ship.

Hiya. I've noticed that the large multi-passenger ships that I've been in have docking ports. The Nova has one on the roof in the main large room and the Yacht also has one (the room with the hole in the floor). Does that mean we're going to be able to dock ships together at some point to exchange passengers? Because that would be soooo coooooool.....

Imperials should be able to board other ships to search for smuggled goods and such.
