if you got the computer space you should also get cap overload 3 and cap to shield shunt three.
i have the shunt command on a macro, and when i start getting hit hard ill activate it. every 14 seconds the command will hit and i gain 10% front and back on my shields (so 20% total recharge if ive taken hits on both sheild facings). basicly its like tripling my shield recharge rate at the press of a button, with no side effects since my cap now chages alot faster than my single gun can drain it. i could just fly with it always on, but i find the constant messages from my flight computer annoying.

Its really all about what you wanna do, and the role of your ship.
In my firespray, I use alot of droid commands, this is my main assualt ship ( because of the mass mostly, better parts )
When I launch I run this macro.
Sheild normilization ( to set sheild back to defualt settings )
Reactor overload 3
Engine overload 3
Weapon overload 3
Capacitor overload 3
Sheild frount adjust 3 ( since with my firespray, im often taking out gunboats, and such like that )
I run a macro that every 16 seconds ( I can do a droid command ever 15 ) I do my capacitorshunt lvl 3 command.
The cap I have is already pretty uber before cap overload, its a lvl 10 REed cap. 1600 max charge, 65 recharge. Throw the overload onto it, and even with doing the sheild shunt ever 16 seconds and constant fire i cant drain my capacitor.
Also with this ship I take very heavy armor, again like I said, attack ship.
My dunelizard is a very very diffrent story. its my fast hit and run type ship. It has 1 REed cannon thats like .75 against armor and sheilds with 4K max damage, and around 20K mass. no armor, thick sheilds. I still use droid commands, but I have a lower mass slow interface on that ship. no sheild adjusting since I get hit all around. still do all the overloads, and just do the cap shunt when im in trouble.

I frankly can't live without it.
When I launch, I run (In order) Reactor Overload 4, Engine Overload 4 (this is ONLY possible because I launch with 3.5-4k extra energy...I run a 984.1 mass/12832 energy reactor in my Interceptor/Advanced), Capacitor Overcharge 3 and Weapon Overload 3. I also have Capacitor to Shield Shunt 4 loaded up and available. This last command is awsome...it drains all capacitor energy into my shields, but because of the massive increase in recharge rate from Capacitor Overcharge 3, I only have a second or two where I can't fire. I've found it 'vital' enough to heavy combat that I tend toretreat when my droid interface is disabled

If I had to choose between a droid interface or armor, I would take the droid interface. For me, it's THAT important. Even when I only had the Rebel Shield commands, it would have been worth it. Now that I have Weapon and Engine Overload 3, I don't know how I ever hunted without them.

rebel droid commands are great, i suggest you get some of those. the shield adjust and emergency front/back are life savers, and they dont damage components like the other stupid programs

what's the downside to the commands that use decay? afaik it can never reach 0.

Like many others i didnt use a droid interface or any droid commands until after I mastered. I do use them now however. They arent necesary or vital but they definently are handy and useful depending on what your doing and who your fighting. IMHO

I couldn't disagree more with this statment.
I have a full set of programs from all 3 factions. It EASILY doubled the power of my ship and thats a conservative estimate. I always wondered why people had trouble soloing missions and if your statement that most people don't use droids is correct than I now know why.

Golrok, who is calling for a nerf????
I was just saying if you have 2 ships of equal build and one has a droid and one does not the one with the droid will be a far superior ship as long as they have all the best programs (Engine Overload, Weapon Overload, Capacitor Overload, Reactor Overload, etc..). I am in no way crying for a nerf (I don't even know how my post could have been interpreted as such), but I AM SAYING that people who say droids arn't necessary are gimping their own ship and therefore making the game harder than it needs to be.
